∶ Summary: reader brings home a cat, even though Colby wasn't ∶ skeptical, but his mind is changed rather quickly once reader gets home

As soon as you locked eyes, you were hooked.

You weren't sure how you were going to break the news to him, maybe if he sees how cute she is, he'll change his mind?

You looked over at Tara, "Colby is going to kill me."

"I don't think he will." She shakes her head, "As soon as he sees how cute she is, he will definitely change his mind."

"That's what I'm hoping happens." You laugh nervously, "He said he didn't want a cat, mainly with all the traveling, but she can come with us." You turn as the worker comes up to you, "She's all yours."

He hands you the carried with the small kitten inside, "I can already tell that she's so loved."

"She is." You bring the carrier up, "Hi sweetie." You listen to the kitten purr and Tara juts her lip out, "It's like she chose you as her mommy."

"I'm gonna cry!" You cover your mouth, "Okay. I have to text Colby." You make your way out to the car and Tara holds the carrier on her lap, unzipping it to let the kitten peak its head through.

You tap the screen, Heyyyyyy babe..

You see the bubble pop up and disappear as his text pops through, that's a bad idea, y/n. You purse your lips, uh huh. He answers instantly, I'm assuming you already did it?

You laugh, yuppers.

You put your phone down, reaching over to scratch the kittens head, "I love the name she already has. Jinx. It's so fitting."

"Colby is going to love her." Tara nods, "How can he not?"

"I guess we'll find out."

After dropping Tara off, you make your way home, kitten in your arms as you walk through the door, "Colby?"

"Livingroom."

You walk in slowly, a smile on your face as you come more into view for him. He smiles, eyes dropping to the feline in your arms, "Oh.. my god." He shifts a forward, "You said you were just going to get dog food for Sugar."

"I know, I know." You fight back laughter, "But I seen this cutie sitting in the window and I just- whoa!" You gasp as the kitten jumps from your arms down onto the couch. You watch as she walks over the cushions to Colby.

"Oh, hello." Colby sits back, raising his hand to allow her to move into his lap. You tilt your head as she lays down, curling up.

Colby looks up at you, a smile resting on his lips as he looks back down, "Okay. She is cute."

"Her name is Jinx."

"Jinx?" Colby look up at you, "Oh my gosh." His fingers move to gently scratch over her head, "She's so soft. And small. I-" he sighs, shaking his head.

"Cats love you, Colby." You move to sit next to him, "It must be that dark demeanor you try and keep up with." You laugh as you look at him, "I think it's sweet."

"My dark demeanor or that cats love me?" He laughs and you shrug, "Both, because I know you're just a big softie." You gasp, "Oh! That must be why!" You laugh more as he rolls his eyes, "Yeah, yeah. Okay."

He looks down at Jinx, "I do love her already." He runs his hand over her back and she stretches out, "Oh, okay." She looks up at him and he laughs, "You're just a total sweetheart, aren't you?"

"You just took my cat, didn't you?"

"Hey, don't blame me. She came to me." Colby laughs, "I'm sure she loves you, too." Colby lays his hand on your leg, "I know I do."

"Is that supposed to make me feel better about her loving you more than me?" You fight back laughter and he shrugs, "Kinda."

You scoff, "Yeah. Okay." You go to get up and he pulls you in. You laugh as you press your lips to his, "I love you, you didn't freak out when I walked in with her."

He kisses your lips again, "It's a cat, not a big deal. Plus, I thought about it, and we'll make it work." He looks down at her, "She'll be the xplr mascot." He laughs, "I gotta text Sam that."
