To Busy Kissing

I wipe the tears off my face quickly, I didn't want to look bad in front of Pony. Although I know he wouldn't care how I look, he loves me no matter what. First Pony comes in followed by Steve&Soda and Two-Bit. Soda sits beside me on the bed and Pony sits next to me on my other side. "We love you," Soda says, putting his arm around me. All the boys agree. "I'm pretty sure Darry's already grounded you, but just to let you know Abby's grounded too," Steve says, crossing his arms. "And don't worry, your not going to miss anything at the rumble tonight. We're going to stomp the Socs hard," Two-Bit says, pretending to fight Steve. Pony grabs my hand and says, "I'll stay with you tonight. Anyway I'm pretty sure Darry doesn't want me going and you home alone." I smile at him. A night alone with Pony sounds great. Two-Bit and Steve wink , and Soda smiles at us. "Just please be careful with the things you do from now on, we don't want you to be taken away or stuff like that," Soda says, hugging me, followed by Steve, Two-Bit , and Pony. "Ok,& I love you guys too," I say to them. They leave the room except for Pony, who's still holding my hand. "So, only school & home right," He asks me, about my grounding. "I guess. I mean I hate missing the rumble, and making you miss it too," I tell him. "I rather not fight that much anyway," Ponyboy says, kissing me on the cheek. "Rumble time," I hear Steve yell. Me & Pony run out and see Steve stuffing his face in cake and Two & Soda arm wrestling, like the gang always does before a rumble. And of course Two-Bit's drinking a beer. Darry walks up to us. "Ponyboy, remember The Rules." The Rules. Uggh. When Darry means that, he means the dating rules for me & Pony. You can probably figure out what they are. "I know Darry," Pony says, to his brother. "And don't open the door or answer it. Socs could be coming around," Darry says, putting on his shoes. Soda runs out of the house and the others follow him. We can hear them yelling, from inside the house. Pony shuts the door, and turns on the TV. I sit on the couch, and he sits down next to me, putting his arm around me. "Two-Bit's missing his show," Pony says, when Mickey Mouse comes on. I laugh bc Two-Bit loves Mickey.

After watching a little bit of TV, it shuts off because it was 9 o'clock. "I hate that the city has to do that," I say, while Pony turns it off. "Me too," he says. He looks at me, then leans in. Soon were kissing, pretty passionately. He pulls me into his lap, and kisses my nose. "I love you, " he says. "I love you too." he kisses me again on the lips. After a couple of minutes, I break the kiss. "What time is it," I ask him, out of breath. "10, why?" He asks, looking at the clock on the wall. Then he stands up. "There supposed to be back by now, right?" I ask him. He nods. "Darry said they would be back at 9:30, winning or not, and he's never late," Pony says. "You don't think-" I start. " No," Pony says. He heads for the door. "I'm going with you," I say walking up to him. "Maribeth, I don't want you getting hurt-" "I won't Pony. And their my family too," I tell him. He grabs my hand, and opens the door, and we start running towards the rumble.
