Prologue

CHAPTER 1

KAYLA'S POV✨

My name is Kayla, I have just turned 15 and its the first day of year 11 tomorrow, Im not the most popular girl in school but hopefully all that will change.

I was bullied in year 10, apparently it was because I was fat and ugly which has lowered my confidence a lot, they said I didn't fit in because I have wealthy parents and quite a big house which isn't normal for this place, but they've moved away now.

We live in Bradford, it's a dodgy area but we haven't moved because Iv grown up here. My parents are never around to even notice what it's like. My dad's a pilot so I don't get to see him because he's always flying to different countries and my Mum's a air hostess (a person that serves people on the plane) which means my Mum and Dad are always together but never around to look after me.

Iv learned to do stuff for my self... Cooking, house work, dry cleaning (washing clothes). My Dad sends money to me each week for supplies, food etc.. It's hard not having a Mum around for support you know, but I have to live with it.

My parents are home sometimes but when they are there either sleeping or out with friends. For myself I have one best-friend, Aiden, yes he's a boy, he basically lives with me when my parents aren't at the house, my parents do trust him because Iv known him since the age of around 3, he's always been on my side and always been here for me, I couldn't ask for a better best-friend.

"Kayla put down your diary and come downstairs to eat dinner"

"Coming mum", I slid my diary underneath my pillow and walked outside the door and down the two set of stairs. My parents knew I'd be writing in my diary because Iv only just recently got it from my nan, Rosie, for my birthday.

"Mum can we watch a film tonight?"

"Sorry darling, I'm going to say no because me and Dad are going work tomorrow and need a good nights sleep. We're flying to Australia and spending a couple of nights there before flying back since its such a flight there. You'll be alright here on your own for a few days won't you? You can invite Aiden to stay here for a couple of nights, if his mum doesn't mind, I know it's a school night but I'm sure she'll be alright with it, I'll ring her tonight then he'll come home with you after school"

"yeah sure mum, thanks, can I skip dinner, I'm not hungry and I want to get an early night for school tomorrow"

"sure darling, sweet dreams"

"night dad" I smiled hugging him.

"night baby"

I wondered up to my room and sat on my window seat, I looked outside, it was still raining, it's never really sunny in Bradford.

I decided to get changes in my pyjamas so I walked across my room and opened the door to my walk in wardrobe. I reached and got my green onesie and slipped it on. I walked over to my dressing table and looked in the mirror.

I observed My dark brown eyes and Long brown hair. I have an alright face and I'm average height, around 5ft 3, I don't think there's anything wrong with the way I look but I must be wrong.

I decided to listen to some music so I grappled my iPod and headphones and slouched in the window seat whilst looking out onto the streets of Bradford.
