Chapter 38
Deadlox POV

You know that moment when your so tired that any form of noise just becomes so annoying. My phone was set on the coffee table next to the couch and had been ringing for the last ten minutes.

"Hello?" I murmured tiredly not even bothering to check the caller ID.

"Deadlox? It's Seto, I need some help." I groaned and sat up wincing. Why the hell was Seto calling me at 6 in the morning?

"This better be important it's like 6am" He chuckled and I rubbed the sleep from my eyes.

"Sorry it's only 7pm here. But listen. Ghost called me back to Europe for some big mission he's got. I don't know who all he's calling as well but it must be something big I guess. I mean we're suppose to be hiding and -"

"Seto not that I don't love listening to you babble. Is there a point to this?" I cut him off. He coughed.

"Right. Well I'm finally sick of Ghost's bullshit threatening my family if I don't follow his orders. I take it he's doing the same to you?" I didn't answer him. "I'll take that as a yes. I want you and Sky in Europe as soon as possible. Ghost is gonna have a hit out on me soon."

"What? Seto what the hell did you do?" I was forcing myself to stand heading carefully down towards mine and Adams room. Seto laughed so coldly it made shivers run down my spine.

"I wish you could have seen it Deadlox. God there was so much blood. I'm sure it'll be on the news tonight! I hope it'll be on the news I left a nice message for them that's gonna lead them right to Ghost." I banged my fist on our bedroom door.

"Adam get up!" I hollered before pressing the phone to my ear "Seto I'll meet you at our place in Germany okay?" I heard him laugh.

"Sounds perfect to me, I'm leaving Texas ASAP. I need to go wash up. So much blood." He giggled. "So much.."

"I get it. Bye Seto." I hung up and shoved the phone in my pocket as Adam opened the door. "Get packed were leaving."  He raised his eyebrows.

"Ty you shouldn't even be walking. Why are we leaving?" I had been ignoring the dull pain across my torso. I pushed passed him and into the room sitting on the bed.

"Seto needs us to get to Germany. There's something I haven't been telling you but I'll explain on the way. Right now we're in danger." I took a deep breathe and stood up only to hunch over and clutch my chest in pain.

I knew the bandages needed to be changed and probably get some medicine reapplied. I felt Adam gently back me up and help me sit down.

"It fucking stings." I hissed threw clenched teeth.

"Lay back and I'll change the bandages." I let go of my chest wincing and carefully laid back on my elbows. Adams delicate fingers untied the bandages and unwrapped them.

The slash across my chest was stitches up and thankfully wasn't infected. He threw away the bloody bandages and grabbed a fresh role and some anti-septic spray to keep it from getting infected. I've had wounds get infected before. It is not fun at all

"This is gonna string." I rolled my eyes mocking him under my breathe as he sprayed the anti-septic on. It stung but not enough to make me flinch. Carefully Adam wrapped fresh bandages around my chest and helped me sit up.

Moving a bit slower I got my duffle bag and packed up the little bit of clothes that weren't packed. We had been practically living out of our suitcases since we got here; in case we had to leave so soon.

With Adam's help we made it outside to the car and I climbed into the backseat. We could get to an airport easily and one of the people who worked for Ghost could fly us. Easy.

"Don't you need the keys?" My head shot up at the sound of Lachlans voice as he leaned in the passenger side window. He held out a set of keys that were for the car and Adam swore under his breathe. "I'm coming with you."

"What? Why?" I asked as he climbed in the passenger seat and handed Adam the keys. He placed a small backpack on the floor in front of him and turned to look at me.

"Because I've had enough of Ghost's bullshit just like you have. He murdered the man I loved and I couldn't stop him." He twisted around in his seat and buckled up as Adam started driving.

I started to wonder how many people Ghost was blackmailing? Adam and myself. Seto and now Lachlan? Who else? Bodil and Simon perhaps? It hurt my head to think about how many people he knows and controls.

We pulled up at the private airport as my phone rang again. Once again it was Seto so I answered instantly.

"Hello? Seto?" I could here heavy breathing on the other end.

"Yeah yeah it's me. Listen I'm about to board my flight. Where are you?"  I winced as I walked leaning against Lachlan to keep myself up as Adam carried out bags.

"Airport now. Private one. We'll be in Germany as soon as possible okay?" He chuckled.

"Flight 136 now boarding." I heard in the background of his end of the call. "That's me, see you when you land."

"Be careful Good Luck. See you later." Lachlan talked to one of the personal pilots who pointed us to his jet.

"Goodbye Deadlox" and he hung up. I shrugged and stuffed the phone in my jean pocket and carefully got on the plane and seated.

"What did Seto say?" Adam asked sitting next to me buckling up. Lachlan sat across from me, with a table between us.

"He's leaving for Germany now. Should be there before us." I scooted closer to him and set my head on his shoulder; Adam smiled and wrapped an arm around me letting me cuddle against his side as much as I could with a seatbelt on.

The plane took off and soon we were on our way to Germany. I know it hasn't been long but I was excited to see Seto again. He's my best friend.

"So Lachlan.." Adam said breaking the silence, "What was your husband like?" Lachlan smiled sadly.

"He was the most perfect thing. Far to innocent for this world. His name was..." He took a breathe, "Vikram but everyone called him Vikk. I haven't said his name is almost a year. I lost him two years ago, Ghost said we couldn't be together but we didn't listen."

"He had these dark chocolate brown eyes and almost black hair. He lived in England so I only saw him when I was there. But we made it work using Skype and phone calls." Lachlan sniffled and I reached across the table giving his arm a gentle squeeze for support.

"It's alright if you want to stop. It's okay." Lachlan wiped his eyes on his sleeve.

"I loved him so much Deadlox."

This was the last straw. Ghost had ruined so many lives of people who risked there own for him.

Right here and right now I was making it my goal to end that mans life and avenge everyone who couldn't be with someone they loved because he decided against.
