Chapter 20
Jason POV

Click. Click. Click. Click. Click.

"Jerome I swear you keep clicking that pen and I'm going to make you eat it." Sky hissed looking up from his laptop. Jerome gave him a dirty look, clicked his pen, and went back to work.

The three of us and Tyler have been at the office since 6:30am this morning. Well Sky's been here for a few days only leaving to change and shower. I've caught him passed out in his office; but Jerome says this is all normal.

"This is getting us no where." Tyler complained taking off his glasses and cleaning them with the hem of his shirt. "We can't stay hidden away in headquarters for the rest of our lives." He stood up, "I am going down to Starbucks and no one can stop me. Whose coming with me?"

Mitch practically jumped out of his chair in excitement and I stood up as well.

"Sounds good I could use a coffee." I admitted setting down my pen and grabbing my jacket off the back of my chair.

"Imma get me a caramel vanilla latte." Mitch said happily, "Jerome want me to bring you some coffee?" He just nodded and continued on with his paper work. I rolled my eyes and grabbed my jacket off the back my chair shrugging it on.

The three of us walked out of the building and headed for the Starbucks just around the corner. I walked alongside Mitch listening to him babble while Tyler walked a few feet ahead of us.

Tyler was a bit different than the rest of the group. In the short few months I'd been here I'd learned that much. He was how to say...a wild card. One minute he was fine; then the next he was tripping out or barking orders. It was strange but it didn't bother me.

"So?" I blinked and looked at Mitch. He had his hands shoved in his hoodie pockets and had been apparently talking to me.

"Huh?" He nudged me playfully.

"Cmon you've got a thing for him." I furrowed my eyebrows. He lowered his voice, "You've got a thing for Tyler. I see how you look at him."

I rolled my eyes. If he was gonna give me the whole spiel about how Tyler hadn't dated anyone in six years well I didn't wanna hear it; I'd already gotten that from Jerome.

"Whatever you say Mitch." Tyler turned and gave us a look before entering the Starbucks. I wasn't sure if he'd heard us but I just shrugged it.

The Starbucks was practically empty besides the two employees behind the counter and a few teens sitting at a table near the window.

"Give me a double espresso." Tyler ordered and glanced back at us, "What about you guys?"

"Tall Caramel Vanilla Latte. Extra foam. And a Tall coffee black." Mitch ordered.

"Ah I guess I'll take a double espresso as well." The worker wrote down our orders and the other made them.

Tyler paid for the drinks as we got them and we decided to sit down at a booth. Mitch was an asshole and took up an entire side so I sat next to Tyler. We all sipped our drinks; only burning my tongue slightly.

"So Jason you've been here for a couple months how's it working with us?" Tyler asked shifting to face me.

"Ah it's pretty cool. I mean I'm the underdog here being the youngest besides Mitch and you guys all knowing each other for a while."

"Pfft your more mature than Mitch. You might be only 20 and Mitch is 22 but mentally he's still a teenager." Tyler explained. He turned to face Mitch, "And don't you deny it"

"Hey I am not denying it!" Mitch challenged. I rolled my eyes and leaned back looking out the window.

It was strange. The streets were packing with people like always but the atmosphere felt strange. My eyes drifted along the road and latched onto a figure who stood against a building across the street.

He stood tall with pride and his eyes lingered on everyone who walked by. He had a lit cigarette dangling from his lips. It was all strange. Why was he there and what was he doing?

It clicked.

The mans eyes were focused on myself and my team members.

"Guys?" I whispered. They didn't hear me. I kept my eyes locked on his man. "Tyler? Mitch?" Again they didn't hear me.

The man smiled at me letting the cigarette fall from his lips. He brought a hand up and made a fist dragging his thumb across his throat then pointed at me. I gulped.

"Guys!" I hissed turned to look at them. They silenced and Tyler raised an eyebrow at my outburst.

"What?" Mitch grumbled.

"Do..do you see that guy across the street?" Tyler looked past me.

"There's no one there." I looked back and the man was gone. "You sure you saw someone?" I nodded furiously.

"Yeah. I think we should go back to the office." I downed my espresso in one gulp and stood up. Tyler did the same and so did Mitch.

We left the building quickly. I was still looking all over. But everything looked normal.

"He's gotta be somewhere close." I murmured slowing down a bit to get a better look around.

Suddenly I felt a presence behind me and a blade pressed into my neck.

"You're correct I am somewhere close." He whispered in my ear. I froze.

"Who are you?" I said loud enough for Tyler and Mitch to turn to face me. There eyes grew wide. Tyler was the first the speak.

"Seto."
