The sound of approaching footsteps drew Yuemei’s attention toward the entrance of the courtyard. Several figures in the distinctive robes of the Zhao sect walked in, their leader a tall young man with a composed yet confident air. His sharp features and steady gaze carried the unmistakable presence of someone accustomed to responsibility.

Yuemei’s eyes immediately caught onto the familial resemblance.

So, this is Zhao Tianrui.

As he stepped forward, his gaze briefly swept over the gathered group before bowing to his aunt and uncle.

"Ayi, Yifu, greetings"

Her aunt fussed over him for a good few seconds making Yuemei smile. It was good to see how loving her aunt was. She can already tell that her time at Cloud Recesses would be fun and enjoyable.

Tianrui turned to them, a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

“Seems like everyone is gathered here,” he said, his voice smooth and confident.

Yuemei arched a brow, smirking slightly. “You say that like you didn't expect it.”

Tianrui hummed, "well I did hear that you were hurt a little biaojie.”

She huffed in amusement. “That’s one way to put it.”

Before she could say anything more, Minghao stepped forward with a grin. “Tianrui!” He greeted warmly, clasping his cousins' forearm in a firm grip. “It’s been a while.”

Tianrui nodded, his eyes softening. “It has. And from what I hear, you’ve been making quite the impression already.” His gaze flickered toward Yuemei with mild amusement. “Both of you, actually.”

Yuemei sighed dramatically. “You make it sound like we’re troublemakers.”

Minghao snickered. “Well—”

Before he could finish that thought, another presence entered the courtyard, drawing all eyes toward the new arrival.

Lan Xichen carried an air of quiet authority as he approached the courtyard. His sharp gaze quickly took in the group, lingering briefly on Elder Lan before settling on the Feng siblings with polite concern.

“I heard that Elder Lan was here” he said smoothly, his voice even but carrying the weight of subtle inquiry. “Has something happened?”

Yuemei watched as Xichen’s expression subtly shifted when he noticed the casual familiarity between them all.

Elder Lan turned to him with a faint, knowing smile. “Nothing alarming, Sect heir Lan. I was simply catching up with my waisheng and waishengnu.”

Xichen blinked. His gaze flickered between the elder and the Feng siblings.

“…You are family?”

Yuemei tilted her head, mildly amused by his reaction. “Mm. Elder Lan is my Yifu and she is my Ayi".
