Shorter chapterbut after this one... well, I just wanna apologize a bit

Life should be a little more like this.
I'm in my shower getting ready for the day. Sure, I might be a bit sore but what's a bit of soreness when it reminds you of your Boss that literally ravished you in the back seat of his car?
Just the thought was enough to make the water of the shower feel hotter. I turn the water colder because now wasn't the time to fantasize. It was time to win a race. Well that's not really on me and more on the team but whatever. Mercedes is a great team and I've felt very welcome ever since I started. Wrapping a towel around me, I step out of the shower. The mirror is all fogged up because of the heat in the room and I wipe my hand over it. For a few seconds, I see myself. My hair is wet and clinging to my shoulders and my face...my face is glowing. A genuine smile is edged into my face. A unfamiliar feeling swims through my stomach and it's almost like peace. Like everything is fine at the moment and I'm happy. Thinking about the day ahead is like a reward. Toto might be stressing around but that's why I'm here to help. My sister will be somewhere around, probably close to Mercedes and Will is absolutely going to be in the McLaren Garage.

———-

Toto is as predicted stressing around like there is no tomorrow and it's a bit contagious. I look out the garage trying to find who he is searching for, but all I see is dirty blond hair and green blue eyes that rush towards me. It's my sister and happy to see her, I walk out.

"Heyy there" I muse stepping closer.

"Mila" Shes panting heavily like she just ran a marathon.

"Someone's was in a rush"
It looks like shes almost more stressed than Toto and she even grips my shoulder and tries to catch a breath. She doesn't look so well and slowly I grow concerned.

"No but-"
Another breath
"They, they are here"

She finally lets go of me and straightens her back. I'm severely confused.
"I didn't know I swear and when I saw them I came here as fast as I could"
Suddenly it dawns on me. Piece by piece, my perfect day crumbles apart.

"I'm really sorry, I had no idea"
I take her hand, giving her a reassuring squeeze.

"Its okay"
My voice is now a lot more quiet and it feels like I'm slipping down into a dark tunnel.
My parents have always been nicer with my sister and there was a time I resented her for it but that was long passed and I can tell how much it bothers my sister, how they treat me. They supported her through her karting career and if she had sided with me, she would have lost all. Back then, I had told her to not worry about me and that I will be fine. Of course, she knew better but she was also smart enough to stay in our parent's good grace.
"I should probably get back to work"
My head held not so high any more I say my goodbyes.
"But hey, enjoy the race"
I tell her before making my way back into the Garage. I haven't seen them since Christmas and honestly it's been great. My life has for the first time actually changed for the better and I was happy. I can't let my parents take that away from me now. A spark of confidence is the only thing I have left as I step besides Toto.
"You alright there?"
He looks down at me and I nod hesitantly. It will be fine. I just have to keep my mother far away from him. A cold breeze makes its way through the Silverstone paddock and into the garage. It was actually pretty warm outside, that's why I was wearing short sleeves but the wind was enough to make a shudder run through me. It's beginning August and it's almost summer break. Finally Toto and I will have time to properly talk about us and what 'us' even is and means. Especially for the future. Besides our situation, I am optimistic. He really likes me and I have to believe in that. I do...I think. My head turn to Toto and I watch him speak on the phone, wildly gesturing around in the air, seemingly frustrated. A small smile spreads on my face. Toto really is something. Just a while ago on that balcony, I was strongly sure that my crush was gone because the feeling had changed but I was stupid. I should have known I was falling in love with him. For the first time in my life, someone really treated me like I wanted to be treated. I'm not saying my sister and Will did anything wrong but with Toto it was different. He was a stranger that found my articles and decided on his own, without previous knowledge of me that he likes my writing. He decided, I was good enough to hire and to even work as his assistant. He believes in me and that, coming from such a successfull person as he is, really means something.
