Stiles' POV
I didn't go back to sleep after the nightmare, unlike Scott who went straight back to sleep. I just sat still for hours, emotionless. Something's wrong with me, I can feel it.
It was now 8:00am, and I was exhausted. I decided to go use the bathroom and get ready for school. Scott was still asleep, but I decided not to wake him. He would wake up eventually.
I grabbed my bag and went to the bathroom. I turned on the tap and bent down to splash cold water on my face. When I stood up straight again, my vision became blurry and I fell backwards. I crashed into the medicine cabinet and everything fell out. I could of sworn I saw wolf-like figure in the door way, but that was probably just due to the lack of sleep.
"Shit..." I mumbled as I rubbed my head.
"Stiles?" I heard Scott call as he ran up the stairs.
"Y-yeah?" I called back.
Scott came in and helped me up.
"What the hell happened?"
"I was just a bit light headed and I fell back. Sorry, I'll clean that up." I said as I pointed to all the spilt medicine.
"No it's fine, don't worry about it. Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just didn't get much sleep, that's all."
"Are you sure you want to go to school today?"
"Scott, I'm fine. Stop worrying about me and go get ready."
"Okay!" Scott said as he shook his head.
"What? Why are you shaking your head?" I asked.
"It's just...you won't let people help you. You keep it all to yourself. I mean, it's okay not to be okay, Stiles."
"I'm gonna go get ready." I said as I pushed pass Scott.
"Stiles-?" Scott said as he reached out for me.
I shook his arm off and carried on walking.
I quickly got changed and jumped in the jeep. I began to drive as I thought about what Scott had said.
"I'm okay." I said to myself. "Everything is going to be okay."
5 hours later
It's has already been 4 lessons and now it was time for lacrosse practice. I hadn't spoken to Scott all day. I wasn't angry at him, I just didn't know what to say. I got changed and went out to the field. I saw Scott and he ran over to me.
"Hi! I'm sorry about this morning. I shouldn't of said what I did and-"
"It's fine, don't be sorry. I over-reacted. Let's just play lacrosse and forget about it." I replied as I interrupted him.
Coach walked out onto the field.
"Right, everybody line up." Coach shouted as he fiddled with his clipboard.
Me and Scott walked over near the goals and lined up with Liam. I didn't recognise the guy who was in goal, he must of been new. He had tanned skin and very dark hair.
I was feeling really nervous about practice. I haven't played in a while and it's not like I'm any good at lacrosse anyway.
"Stiles, you're bending your stick." Liam whispered.
I looked down at my stick to see that the metal was bent. I quickly straightened it back out, hoping no one else had saw.
"Sorry, I'm just a bit nervous."
Scott turned around and said "Don't be nervous, you'll do fine."
"Scott, have you met me? I am literally terrible at lacrosse. Oh, and if you haven't noticed I also don't know my own strength yet so I could possible end up knocking someone out!"
"You'll be fine Stiles, just stop worrying about it."
I was about to reply when suddenly coach blew his whistle.
"Right, Greenberg! You're up first."
Greenberg took his shot, and missed the goal.
"Why are you even on the team? Go sit on the darn bench." Coach shouted. "Dunbar, you go next!"
Liam took his shot, and obviously scored.
"You see boys, that is how it's done!" Coach shouted. "McCall, you're up!"
Scott took his shot and scored. Coach looked so pleased.
"Um, Oh great...Stilinski you're up!"
I took my shot, and I actually scored. Coach looked amazed. I started to walk to the back of the line, when coach pulled me over.
"Hey Stilinski! When did you become good at lacrosse?" He asked.
"Uh... I just practised a lot."
"Wait, I want to try something." Coach turned around and pointed at two random players. "You two, go into defence."
"What are you-?"
"I want you to try and score. Run up, dodge the defenders and score."
"Um okay..."
Coach guided me to the front of the line and then told me to go.
I felt the adrenaline rising in my body. I ran towards the two players and knocked them both out. Then I ran closer to the goal and scored. I fell to the floor out of breath. I heard coach cheering and shouting, but I couldn't make out what he was saying. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and saw Scott.
"Stiles, your eyes are glowing and your fangs and claws are showing!" I looked down and saw claws peeking out of my gloves.
"I can't-I can't!"
"Just take a deep breath and relax. Remember your anchor."
"I took in a deep breath and relaxed. Coach ran over to me and Scott.
"Woah, Stilinski! Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I just got a bit light headed." I replied as Scott helped me up.
"You were amazing! I mean...you used to be terrible at lacrosse. Now you're amazing! How is that possible?" Coach asked.
"Um...like I said, I practice a lot."
"We need you on the team! And I don't mean just on the bench." Coach said as he walked away.
Scott just smiled at me.
"I'm finally on the team." I said.
"Yeah, and you deserve to be. You did good out there, apart for the whole glowing eyes thing. I think we should probably go back in before you rip another players head off."
I was still breathing heavily. "Yeah, that's a good idea."
As we walked away, I noticed that the boy in goal was giving me a strange look. He looked almost, shocked.
