Ch 9: My White Knight...?

Goku kept his eyes on the evil saiyan prince at all costs. "I assume you know the brats little friend? What was his name?" Goku didn't fall for his taunts. "Oh yes, his name was Rokiten wasn't it? But I guess you wouldn't even know because apparently you've neglected him for years!" Now that hit a nerve.

Goku charged foward and the two began a vicious cycle of punches and kicks. "You know... after I'm done with you I think I deserve a reward. I'm sure Rokiten won't mind accompanying me on my travels. He is very...useful" Vegeta tainted. Goku froze at the comment which gave the prince an opening. Goku stumbled back at the force of the hit and frowned. 'He's using him as a distraction. I have to get in the game...what would he think if he knew I was lagging?"

-Flashback-

Young Goku cried out in pain as he was struck across his chest with his own staff. "Aww! ----! Why did you hit me?!" The other saiyan expertly spun the staff in one hand before aiming the tip at Gokus chest. "I'm training you. This will one day save your life. If a couple bruises can do that then it's worth it." Goku pouted. "Come on, can't we take a break?" ---- turned around and made the staff shrink. "No. You've been lagging it lately Goku, plus we need to make up all those days of training we missed because of your stupid--Ahh!"

Goku crept behind his guardian and leapt atop him. The two went crashing down with a triumphant Goku cheerfully relishing in his victory. "Haha! I took you down! Can we play now? Huh? ----?" Goku used a hand to wipe away at his friends bangs. He gasped when he found them scrunched up in pain. A tear peeked out from the corner of his friends eye and he gingerly wiped it away with his thumb. Bringing it to his lips he tasted the tear and frowned. All the cheeriness evaporated and he easily scooped up the smaller friend and made his way back to their home. "Goku..." ---- began but he was cut off when Goku pinched his cheek.

"No more training ----. Why didn't you tell me you were in pain?" ---- didn't answer so when they reached their tiny abode, Goku kicked the door open and laid the smaller saiyan on the bed. He refused to let ---- out of bed and layed besides him in hopes of providing an ounce of comfort.

"The second I feel better we're going to train so hard you won't be able to feel your body for weeks," the other sayain promised. Goku smiled and wrapped his arms around the others waist. "Okay," he mumbled. In less than five minutes the two were lulled to sleep by eachothers heartbeats.

-End Flashback-

With renewed vigor, Goku powered up to kaio-ken as per Vegetas request. 'I can do this!' Goku thought as he charged towards his opponent.

Rokiten tensed when a huge ball of light shot up into the sky. "That ball of light...like a second sun, but what is it?" Rokiten copied his charges movements and dove down with him. "GOHAN! GET DOWN AND HIDE!!" Krillin yelled. Of course the child didn't listen. Krillin gritted his teeth. "Rokiten! Do something!!" The guardian shook his head and continued after his charge.

The three landed a few feet behind Vegeta who was in ape form. "We need to cut his tail..." Rokiten said in disbelief. The evil ape had his former charge in his grasp and by the looks of it, Goku had no more fight in him. Turning to the other two Rokiten spoke. "You two go distract him, and you..." Rokiten turned to a familiar face. "Yajirobe and I will cut off his tail," he finished with a smirk. The plus one squeaked after being discovered and simply nodded.

Rokiten kept hidden and watched as his charge managed to successfully grab the apes attention. "What a surprise! Your son came to watch you die!" Vegeta laughed and proceed to squish the life out of his enemy. 'Now!!' Krillin thought as he prepared a disk of energy. "KIENZAN!!" he yelled as he threw the attack at Vegeta.
