Ch 14: Who I Really Am (Part 1)

Roki stared numbly at the water sloshing around in his cup. Vegeta had shoved it in his hands after he'd gone into shock and left the room to give the smaller saiyan time to think.

'I...I see Goku as a potential m-mate...what does THAT mean?' He thought. Bringing the cup to his lips, he took a small sip and felt the cool liquid slide down his throat and settle in his stomach. A small smile formed on his lips as he remembered the first thing he's ever done for Goku was give the saiyan water. 'He was stubborn about it, but he eventually understood...' he thought. The guardian numbly continued to sip the water until there was nothing left. He quickly left the room to find another source. He needed more.

After a few twists and turns the guardian managed to find a washroom. Oddly enough it was the same one he had found Vegeta at earlier. He wasted no time in placing the cup in the sink and turning the faucet on just a bit so that water could trickle out.

While the cup filled Roki conversed with himself. "Vegeta said that saiyans mate for life, but Goku has Chi-Chi. Once Gohan and Goku are happy I'm disappearing, it only makes sense since it's all I ever known for so long. 1000 years of habit can't be erased in a few years."

The water had already began to overflow but Roki tightened his grip on the sink, and with his saiyan strength, it spotted a small crack. "I love them both, that's the truth. How can I not? When I met Goku, my very existance cried out for him. That's the only reason I ever talked to him. He was so sweet, he didn't deserve the future the superiors set for him! "

Roki felt the fragile porcelain of the sink break in his hands and a shard managed to slip into his palm. Roki yelped and brought it up for inspection. The shard was small but big enough to be pulled out. Roki giggled a bit and easily pulled it out. Blood immediately began to seep out and the guardian merely shoved his hand under the running water.

"And Gohan...I haven't known him as long as Goku but there is no difference. Instinctually adopting him isn't so bad but I have to keep my distance. Gohan is already too attached to me. I need to do something about that. It would only serve to make my disappearance more harder on him..." Roki reasoned. Turning the faucet off, Roki ignored the over filled cup and grabbed a towel to dry his hands. The wound had yet to heal and the saiyan frowned. 'It should've healed by now...' he thought. Bringing his palm to his lips, he licked the wound and gasped when a sharp pain shot through his arm. His face scrunched up in pain and he concentrated on riding the sensation until it passed. When it passed the guardian left the washroom, cradling his arm to his chest, unaware of the angry eyes that watched him leave.

"How are you feeling Dad?" Gohan dried himself with a white towel and began to slip on the blue stretchy suit that Vegeta had told them to wear. Goku smiled. "I feel better than ever! Roki really knows how to fix people up!" Gohan stilled at the mention of Roki's name. "Dad, you said you love Roki right?" Goku rolled his eyes. "Yes I do Gohan. Why do you keep asking me that? Do you?" Gohan nodded. "Yes, I do, but unlike you, I'm not tired of saying it," the child answered.

Goku's eyes narrowed. "Watch it Gohan. I'm your father and I don't think Chi-Chi would like it if she heard you talk back," Goku scolded. Gohan frowned. "Speaking of mom, when will you tell her?" Goku seemed genuinely confused. "Huh?"

Goahn clentched his hands. "You say you love Roki, so you'll divorce mom and marry him right?" Goku seemed unsure how to answer. "YOU'RE NOT GOING TO LEAVE MOM, ARE YOU?!" Gohan uncharacteristicly yelled. Goku was shocked at his son's behavior. "Gohan don't talk that wa--" Goku was interrupted when his son made way to the exit. "Dad, I love you, but I also love Roki. You said you take this 'game' seriously but you obviously don't if you're willing on stringing him along. If you won't take this seriously then I will."
