The same evening, Jungkook found himself preparing for his visit. He carefully selected a few items to make her feel special—a bouquet of fresh flowers, a box of her favorite pastries, and a sketchbook in case she felt inspired to create. As he stepped outside, the warm sun brushed against his skin, a feeling that carried promises of hope and healing.
Arriving at her grandmother's home, he walked up the familiar path, an excited sense of purpose ignited within him. Knocking softly, he waited for Grandma to open the door, a smile stretching across his face as she greeted him.
"Ah, Jungkook! Come in, dear!" she beckoned, her warm tone drawing him inside.
"Is Yn awake?" he inquired, his gaze eagerly searching for the familiar figure he had grown to care for so much.
"Yes, she's been resting. Just tired from yesterday. Why don't you head up and check on her? I'll prepare some tea," she said, heading toward the kitchen.
Jungkook climbed the stairs, his heart racing with anticipation. As he reached her door, he knocked softly, calling, "Yn? It's Jungkook. Can I come in?"
A faint voice floated through, "Y-Yes, Mr. Jeon. Please come in."
Pushing the door open, he stepped inside to find Yn propped up in bed, looking a little fragile but still the beautiful soul he remembered. The sunlight spilled through the window, casting a glow around her,and he momentarily froze at her sight.
"Hi, Yn. How are you feeling?" he asked, closing the door behind him as he entered.
She looked up, her eyes lighting up in surprise, and then a sheepish grin broke across her face. "I'm okay, just a little weak. Thank you for coming."
He moved closer, sitting at the edge of her bed. "I brought you something," he said, placing the flowers on her nightstand. "And some pastries. Thought you might like them."
Her eyes widened as she saw the delightful treats, excitement bubbling inside her. "Thank you! You didn't have to..." she began, but Jungkook cut in.
"Just a little something to cheer you up. I want to make sure you're okay. I'm here to help," he reassured her, his gaze steady and filled with sincerity.
She looked down, her cheeks flushing as she struggled to find the right words. "I... I appreciate it, Jungkook. I really do. It's just... this is new for me—having someone care."
The honesty in her voice tugged at his heart, and he gently said, "I understand. Just try to take each day as it comes. You're not alone in this."
Yn nodded, her eyes shimmering with the potential for healing. Their conversation unfolded as they shared laughter and stories. When moments grew quiet, Jungkook caught sight of the painting supplies stacked neatly in the corner.
"Did you do any drawing today?" he asked, genuinely curious.
