As the cafeteria buzzed with chatter and laughter on a bright afternoon, Yn found herself tucked into a cozy corner with Mia, who was animatedly recounting her day.
"You won't believe it, Yn!" Mia exclaimed, her expressive face lighting up with the story she was about to share.
"My senior has been such a stickler today! He's been correcting my work like I'm some kind of rookie!" She rolled her eyes dramatically, fanning herself as if the heat of frustration was too much to bear.
Yn watched her with wide eyes, a small smile forming on her lips.
Mia continued, "I mean, come on! He actually asked me to fetch him coffee, as if I'm his personal barista or something! Can you believe that?"
With a playful huff, she leaned closer, her voice dropping to a mock conspiratorial whisper. "I wish I could just toss him into a glass of water! It would be the perfect way to cool him down!" She made a gesture as if throwing water, her hands splashing in exaggerated motions.
Though Yn didn't quite know how to respond to Mia's frustrations, she couldn't help but chuckle softly at her friend's antics. Adjusting her glasses with a shy smile, she fiddled with her food, feeling the lightness of the moment wrap around her like a warm hug.
"But you know," Mia continued, waving her fork for emphasis, "even though he's annoyingly bossy, I have to admit, he's pretty handsome. It's just a shame that his attitude overshadows that charm!" Mia made a sad face as if mourning the loss of his good looks.
Yn giggled, the laughter bubbling up inside her like effervescent soda.
Mia said, grinning brightly, "but let's just say I'd rather handle a thousand spreadsheets than deal with him right now!"
Despite the stirrings of office drama, Yn felt a sense of comfort at that table, the vibrancy of Mia's spirit pulling her into the joy of newfound friendship.
But the vibrant buzz of the cafeteria fell into a hush as an undeniable presence strode in, commanding attention with each confident step. Jungkook, immaculately dressed in a tailored suit that showcased his toned physique, was a rare sight in the lunchtime crowd. The usual chatter faded, replaced by a palpable silence as all eyes turned to him, awe and surprise etched on their faces.
Ignoring the stares and whispers, Jungkook scanned the room, his gaze searching for one special person. It landed on Yn, sitting at a corner table, her attention completely consumed by Mia's animated chatter. He watched her for a moment, enchanted by the way her fingers played with her food, her cute glasses slipping a bit as she adjusted them on her nose. The scene warmed his heart; she seemed so at ease, so vibrant among the lively conversations.
Just as he was about to make his way over to her, he was intercepted by an enthusiastic voice. "Ommo! Mr. Jeon!" Elderly Director Kwon approached him, eyes lit up with excitement. "I didn't expect to see you here! Please, come join us!"
