[ 15 ] HORMONALLY INTOXICATED

TOSHA

"So, we can move that up for this week because you also have to prepare for the birthing class, I think you have two sessions left. One this week and then two weeks after." Lori spoke on our facetime call, scrolling through her iPad in her home office as she and I discussed reorganizing my schedule.

After our call last night, Matteo called me early in the morning and we spoke more about me decreasing the amount of things I had on my schedule until our baby boy was born. I didn't want to pry too much if Matteo had gotten drunk last night, but I was a bit curious about what he did last night. Matteo didn't mention the matter and to refrain from seeming as if I was conjuring up problems between us, I allowed the thought to die.

I knew that this week would be beneficial to Matteo's career but Bridgette's face did come across my mind a few times.

On the other hand, the hormones also didn't help with me maintaining a clear mind.

Nonetheless, I definitely wanted to reduce any stress that would put me in early labor. It wasn't good for our son.

"This session, I'll do it alone since Matteo isn't here but that last session, he must be here. We have to get the downstairs guest room ready for the home birth. Did you...did you order the birthing tub yet?" I asked Lori.

I sat in the backseat of the car and Louis was driving me to Kaila's Kitchen. Today, I planned on wrapping up on a few key elements to the menu that I could do in the restaurant and then allow Sergio to know that moving forward, I was cutting back on work and we'd have to schedule to see each other for house visits until I delivered this baby.

Lori nodded into the screen, fixing her glasses. "Yes, I did. It should be arriving sometime next week. I'll make a note to stay on the tracking for the delivery to make sure it gets here this month." Lori continued swiping on the screen of her iPad. "Ok, so everything's looking pretty good for this week. I think that we can maybe...Um..."

"Maybe do what, Lori?" I asked, looking out of the window to see how far we were from reaching the restaurant.

"Um..just one second. I–I..."

"Spit it out, Lori. Why are you stuttering? Is something overlapping on the schedule for this week?" I questioned her, becoming impatient.

I was already as big as a meatball, my breasts were sweating and I was really craving a juicy, well cooked burger right now.

"Did you make it to the restaurant yet?" She asked me.

"No, I'm still in the car with Louis. We're almost there. What's going on, Lori?" I pressed. Beyond agitated.

"Okay, I'll send you the article." Lori said, scrolling through her iPad and tapping at the screen. "I don't want you to stress out about this and I'm not sure what you know but this is the first time I'm seeing this today."

I waited for the text to come to my iPhone.

Once Lori's message came through, I opened the message thread, removing the Facetime screen from my phone and clicked the link to the press article. I read the headline of the article and confusion danced across my face.
