The Triwizard Tournament had come to a close with a chilling twist. The final task had seen Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter reach the Triwizard Cup together, but what was meant to be a moment of glory had turned into something far darker. Lilith Voldemort stood at a distance, watching, her cold eyes fixed on the events unfolding before her. She had been working for her father, waiting for the signal to strike, to see the moment of his triumph. But what happened on that night, in the graveyard, was beyond anyone's expectations—except hers.
Cedric Diggory, brave and kind, had been the victim of a cruel, premeditated murder. And Lilith? She had played a part in it, her presence being a silent agreement between her father and herself. There had been no love in her heart for Cedric, not since her father had pulled her away from Hogwarts and forced her into his service. But the weight of the death she had helped orchestrate felt heavier than the armor she had carefully built for herself.
Lilith hadn’t been at the graveyard with the others. She had been in the shadows, invisible, waiting for her father's command. As the spell was cast, and Cedric fell, a part of Lilith died with him.
She had no choice. No choice but to obey. She was bound to him, her father, the Dark Lord. She was Voldemort's daughter, and there was no escaping it.
But despite her cold, controlled exterior, a part of her felt that tug of humanity, the faint echo of the girl she had once been. The one who had laughed with her friends, who had dreamt of a life that wasn't dictated by her father's whims. The one who had fallen for Draco, who had cried when she thought she had lost him. That girl, buried deep beneath the layers of darkness, recoiled at the cruelty her father had brought into the world.
The image of Cedric's lifeless body burned into her mind as she walked back to the place where her father awaited her. The eerie glow of the Dark Mark hung in the air, and she knew that soon enough, the mark would appear over the skies of Hogwarts, a signal to the world that the Dark Lord had returned.
Lilith clenched her fists at her sides, her nails digging into her palms as she made her way through the dark corridors of Malfoy Manor. The familiar, oppressive air of the mansion filled her lungs, but it didn't offer her comfort. It was a reminder of everything she had lost—and everything she had become.
Her father was waiting for her in the grand hall, standing tall and ominous like a shadow over the world. The flickering light from the fire danced over his pale features, casting long shadows that seemed to stretch out toward her.
"You've done well, my daughter," Voldemort's voice slithered through the room, cold and calculating. "Now, the world will know that we are no longer to be ignored. The time has come for the rise of our power."
Lilith's lips tightened, but she said nothing, her eyes cast downward. She knew the consequences of defying him. Her mind swirled with conflicting thoughts, but she had learned long ago that defiance led to suffering. And she wasn't sure if she could bear any more of that.
"Are you pleased?" Voldemort asked, his voice soft but dangerous. "We have delivered our message, and now the world will be forced to recognize our strength."
Lilith’s heart twisted. "The message was delivered," she said, her voice cold, emotionless. "But at what cost?"
Her father's sharp gaze turned toward her, and for a moment, she saw something flicker in his eyes—something like amusement, or maybe even irritation. "Cost? Cost is irrelevant. You will learn, Lilith, that in this world, power is all that matters. And to gain it, sacrifices must be made."
Lilith remained silent, her chest tight. She had heard this all before. Power. Control. Sacrifice. It was the language of her father's world, a world where no one could afford to show weakness.
As she turned to leave the hall, the familiar sense of isolation crept over her once more. She had done what her father wanted, as always. But she couldn’t silence the nagging feeling in her chest—the feeling that something, deep down, was wrong.
Outside, the cold wind howled through the trees, but Lilith barely noticed it. She had been walking for hours, lost in her thoughts, when the sky suddenly erupted with light. The Dark Mark blazed above her head, green and sickly, a signal to the Death Eaters that their Lord had returned.
Lilith’s heart pounded in her chest as she stared up at the symbol. The weight of Cedric’s death pressed heavily on her, but she couldn’t show it. Not here. Not in front of the followers who had gathered to witness the power of the Dark Lord.
She turned away, walking toward the shadows once again, knowing that there was no turning back. Her life, and the world around her, had changed forever.
And with it, her soul seemed to drift further away from the light.
