TWENTY FIVE

When the day came for our meeting with the human sheriff, I was a little nervous. Only because of how things played out with Yoongi, and though we made up, I knew that we had information that they did not have which was going to help. That made me feel better, like we weren't going in blind.

If we gave them the information that we knew, maybe they would be more apt in including us in the investigation or at least given more information from what they know.

Since the meeting that Hoseok brought us those photographs Jungkook and I went on a social media stalking spree to find the familiar face that was in the photos. After about 3 days we found him.

He was in Jungkook's high school class when he used to go to the public school. All of our pack went to public school in the nearby human world to be sure we were educated and well rounded. According to a few different pages we found this guy fell into a bad way with drugs and gambling.

Apple didn't fall far from the tree because we were also able to identify another one of the members in the photos as his father. The more we dug, more we found out it was just him, his brother and his dad. Brother was able to get away from the 'family business' of black markets and underground. He hasn't been seen in years and according to his Facebook account, he wasn't even in the state anymore. He's a dentist in Alaska.

Good for him though.

I was excited to be there when we spoke to the local sheriff. I had faith that he would be able to assist more when he saw how much information we had to offer.

"Anyone nervous?" Namjoon asked, and I know he was directing the question to me.

"Not really." Shrugged. "Facts are facts and we can only hope with what we have will help."

Yoongi's hand that had been resting on my upper thigh gave me a gentle squeeze and Jin let out a breath.

"I just hope he knows who these people are." Jin said. "It's a small town and we have pictures and names. If they have been involved in black market nonsense then he has had to come across him from time to time."

"Let's hope so." Namjoon responded as we pulled into the police station.

When we walked in, the front desk face was covered in glass with holes in it to speak through. Namjoon greeted the woman on the other side who said she would grab Sherriff Bartlett for us. We didn't even sit down, as the man who came through the iron door on the other side greeted the guys warmly.

"This is my sister." Namjoon said introducing me. "She is the one who found out some information we think you may want to know."

"Fantastic." The older gentleman replied after shaking my hand. "Please come to my office."

He guided us down the hallway to the left towards his office. There were to an each side at the end of the hallway and he even grabbed a 4th chair from another room to make space for me.

This is promising.

"I hate to tell you." He started as he rounded the desk to sit opposite us. "I have not had much luck. There was a deputy who said they saw a few trucks on your land's boarder but by the time he got the back up he needed they had left. It was too dark and if he had used any kind of light he would have been in danger."

"We understand." Namjoon said. "But I think we may have a few things for you to help your investigation."

"Really?" He asked, a look of surprise on his face. "Do tell."

Namjoon looked over to me, allowing me to speak on the matter. "We have a security system set up all around our land. It's a man system, no real electroncs since its not physically feasible for technology out in the woods like that. So one of our rotations brought a new camera that takes night vision photos in color without a flash." I then handed him an envelope with a copy of everything Jungkook and I found. The pictures the social media pages and past criminal histories. "While he was on patrol, he was taking photos in the dark to see what was around him, and when he heard noises he thought it was an animal and stopped to hide behind a tree but wanting to see what he was hearing he would take photos. We caught the people who are laying the traps."
