My Best Friend's Cousin

Chapter fifteen

Kendi is coming!
I wake up and I think my waters have broken! I scream in pain as my first contraction starts! Ansel jumps wake and whisper shouts "What's wrong?" I scream again and shout
"Baby! Baby is COMING!" he jumps up and pulls a jumper on. Ansel grabs me a jumper as well and helps me put it on. He grabs our baby bag that I put together yesterday and helps me out of bed and down stairs to the car.
Once we are in the car Ansel starts to drive to the hospital and on the way I feel something that I don't thinks right. I know I'm having a contraction, but it's not painful. I say
"Ansel! Drive faster!" He speeds up and when we get to the hospital the nurse asks
"Have you had any contractions?" I nod and she asks "How many?" I scream and then say
"Four" Ansel smiles and holds in a chuckle. I realise what I said. Four, from divergent. The nurse helps me into a wheel chair and takes me into a room. When we get in there I get onto the bed and a doctor comes in. He says "I'm going to have a look and see if your ready" I nod and Ansel takes my hand. The Doctor says
"I need you to push on the next contraction" I nod and scream! I push and push and push.
After about a hour I have my beautiful baby in my arms. We name him Kendi Ansel Elgort.
We spend the day in the hospital with friends and family visiting Kendi.

The next three days speed past and we're getting ready to take Kendi home! Ansel has set up the spare room in his house to be Kendi's room and has painted it light green with white furniture.
Just as we are getting ready Tilly and Joe walks in and Tilly says
"Hey chummy! How are you?" I grin and say
"I'm great! Did you have fun in London?" She grins and looks at Joe. I look at both of them and say "Did something happen?" They nod and Tilly says
"I'm getting married!" I grin and say
"Omg! Congrats!" They smile and Tilly says
"Anyway! Where's your little boy?" I grin and take Kendi out of his crib. I pass him to Tilly and she smiles and says, "What's his name?" I grin and reply
"Kendi" they smile at each other and I say "Your gonna have such cute kids!" They laugh and Tilly passes me Kendi. I put him in his baby carrier and say "We're leaving now but you can come over for a cup of tea?" Tilly smiles and says
"Maybe another day. We'll let you get Kendi settled in first!" I smile and nod. They both hug me and leave. I grab my last bag and Kendi and start walking to the car. I see Ansel talking to some fans and the waves me over. I head over and say
"Hello" he grins at me and Kendi and says
"This is my son Kendi and my girlfriend Helen" the girls smile and say
"Hi! Congratulations! Awww he's so cute!" Ansel smiles at them and says
"I've got to get my little boy home now. See you girls soon!" They nod and walk off. We get into the car and Ansel drives us home. We unload everything and take Kendi to his room. He fell asleep on the way home so we put him in his cot and go and make some lunch.
We spend the afternoon watching films and spending time as a family.
That night Kendi didn't sleep much and we were constantly getting up and feeding, changing and rocking him.
