I woke up everybody, and I showed them the pages on how we could (probably) stop the curse. I guess on a normal day, they would be skeptical, but since Mordale was pretty much falling apart, they seemed to be on board with the idea.
"Okay," said Radar, looking at the page. "The question is, how are we going to get there? And, where are we getting?" I sucked in a breath. I didn't really think of that.
Mercury bit her lip. "The town doesn't look too good. Maybe we could find some bikes or something? And where exactly is this location?" I shrugged, and then I brightened. I pointed at the library all around us, and grinned.
Radar half-smiled. "You said it Cricket, well, sort of, but everybody grab a book!"
We all went to different sections of the library. I searched through piles and piles of books with Mordale, and nothing brought up some kind of curse-place or something.
I tossed the latest book away, and huffed in frustration. I doubt the others found something either. And then something else came into my mind. The only place I haven't checked yet was the spellbook.
I opened it, and turned through the pages. And I saw something in the back. I flipped to that area.
It was labeled Notes.
It seemed to be like a diary of some sort. Probably something Farlo Bend used to record things. I read some entires.

I used some charms today, to experiment with a goat. I tried to make its milk sweeter, but instead, I made its horns so long and heavy it couldn't walk. Note: pronunciate your C's. It makes an oddly big difference.

Heather turned seven today. She was very excited, so I went to get her a cake. I tried to add more frosting, but instead I made the cake explode. On the bright side, Heather didn't mind licking the frosting off her fingers. I'm so glad to have her as my daughter.
My heart ached as I read some of the entries with Heather. I especially liked the one where Bend tried to stop Heather with her first boyfriend. I remembered in the history books of our town said that Heather had died at age fourteen. It made me feel so ancient as I read the entires.
I finally flipped to the last one, and I think it was perfect.
March 24, 1898
Today is Heather's thirteenth birthday, and it is the last day I'll spend with her. I explained to her that they were going to take her away from me, and she was very upset. So I took Heather to the small garden near the entrance of Mordale. It was the place her mother was buried. I think she deserved to see it. I'm sorry I couldn't help you Heather. This may be my last entry, but I hope the townleaders feel at least a little guilty of what they are doing. Note: Heather really likes daisies. It stopped right there, and tears were leaking out of my eyes. So, the curse really was rightful revenge. I quickly wiped my eyes, and read the location again. I couldn't be sure it was where Bend cast the curse, but it was the best chance I had.
Thomas saw me with the book in the corner. I nodded, and pointed to the book. He grinned, and called, "Guys! I think Cricket's got something!"
--------------------------------------------
"That's all you got?" Mercury said skeptically, looking over the entry again. I nodded. "Not much of a lead, is it?" "I agree." Radar said.
And then Thomas spoke up. "Guys, listen. I know it was my fault the book exploded and caused our town to be all messed up. And I know I can't change that. But the least I can do is try to fix it. So, Cricket doesn't have much to lead us on. But still, it's the only chance we-I- got. And I will take any chance to fix it if possible."
I was impressed. Thomas was actually being a man, and taking the blame. And I was glad he agreed with me. I smiled, and patted him on the shoulder. Radar looked doubtful. "Thomas, I know that. But can we really trust this book, after all its done?" Everybody was silent for moment, and then Mercury cleared her throat.
"I'm in. If it means saving our town, then I'm all up for it. I know Cricket and Thomas are in. The question is if you are in, Radar?" All eyes turned to him.
Radar looked frustrated, and then finally huffed. "Fine. I'm in. We have a problem though: how are we getting to the town entrance?"
Mercury looked down. "I have a way we could possibly get there, though it's a little crazy." I raised an eyebrow. Mercury looked nervous.
"Follow me."
