Note: And with this final chapter, we say goodbye to Twisted Zoo. *wipes tears away* I still may do the "After Chapters" but for now, I want to start work on my next TWST story!

Note 2: I did something weird with this chapter and it ended up short, I hope you guys still like it >3<

The first time you refused, Cater pouted and Riddle sulked.

The second time, they insisted.

The third time, they didn't let you leave.

At first, it was just practice. Riddle corrected everything from your posture to the way you turned your foot inwards too far. Cater, on the other hand, kept things light, twirling you around in the shallow water while giggling.

A courtship dance seemed silly to you, and you were sure they were only messing with you. No way would they want to actually court a human.

"You're our special human," Cater whispered in your ear as he pulled you close mid-pirouette, "Shouldn't you want to match your flock?"

"I'm trying," you panted. It was a lot of work and the sun was beating down on you. You could see the other birds' enclosures watching you three with envy.

Riddle was ruthless, "No slouching! Do it again!"

You stumbled to a stop and wiped at the sweat on your brow. Cater smiled, but you could sense tension as he said, "Ah, ah, we have to dance until we get it perfect!"

"I need a break!" you panted.

"No breaks!" Riddle's eyes flashed, "Flamingos do not abandon their mates!"

You stared at him, "But isn't this for fun? I'm human, remember?"

Cater shot Riddle a look, but there was no stopping him now, "This is an extremely important dance for our species- and, yet, you wish to abandon it? Abandon us?"

You sat down in the grass framing the mossy pond and gasped for air.

"You're going too hard on her," Cater murmured.

"She doesn't understand the importance! She treats it like a game!" Riddle snarled.

"To humans, it probably does sound like a game!"

You stared up at the sun, which was finally sinking. "Just a little break," you begged.

"Fine," Riddle snapped, "But only for five minutes."

Your feet ached and your calves burned, you were sure five minutes wasn't enough of a break for you, but before you knew it, Cater was hauling you to your feet and spinning you around.

"I have to check the peacocks before it gets too late," you warned the flamingos through pained breaths, "The zoo's already closed."

Cater and Riddle exchanged looks, "Just a little longer..."

A little longer turned into a lot longer and, before you knew it, you were collapsing onto the grass, out like a light.

—----------------------------------------

You woke slowly, barely realizing you were submerged in warm water until a few minutes had passed. You looked down and screamed.

Your skin... was pink? It was an obvious, obnoxiously bright pink.

You looked down at your reflection and realized something else had changed: matching pink feathers grew in tufts on your head, among your hair, attached to your scalp.

Cater and Riddle came running, no doubt having heard your scream. However, they didn't look upset.

Cater grinned and plucked a feather from your head, eliciting a yelp of pain. He pulled one of the feathers from his wings and compared the two.

They matched.

"Birds of a feather, stick together, (Y/n)," Cater giggled, "Isn't she so pretty, Riddle?"

Riddle's ears turned red as he looked away from you determinedly, "Well, either way, you should be better at the courtship ritual by now..."

Your heart sank.

Cater helped you to stand, water dripping from your hair, feathers, and clothes. "Let's dance," he said with a little giggle.

"And no more breaks."
