Ever since you were a little girl, you'd dreamed of having a flowery spring wedding. When the grass looks greener than ever, the red skies clear up, and the birds sing their hearts out in search of a promising mate. It was the time of year when romance flutters freely in the air. Marrying a tyrant was never part of your perfect wedding, but life's paths are never what you plan in the beginning.

You were in the library with Mrs. Inoue, planning what you wanted for your wedding, which was just a month away. You had already decided that the wedding would take place in the King's Hall in the afternoon, and the party, in the parade ground at night. There would be an orchestra like the one at the White Flower Dance and you would wear a beautiful white dress with a long train. Mrs. Inoue chose a wide variety of foods so that all the servants could enjoy the party with their stomachs full. All that was left was to choose the cake flavor.

"How about a three-tiered strawberry cake?" Mrs. Inoue suggested, showing you a drawing in a baking book.

"It's a sugar bomb, the servants may not like it," you said, returning your gaze to the other book you were flipping through. "How about dark chocolate?"

"Very bitter." Mrs. Inoue dismissed the idea with a sneer.

"I like it." A deep voice echoed in the room. They both looked toward the entrance; Sukuna had been watching them for a while.

"Hello, Sukuna," you greeted him before running to hug him. He picked you up in his strong arms as if you weighed as much as a feather, spinning you around in joy at seeing you again.

"Hello, my daisy," he whispered in your ear before planting a loud kiss on your lips. "I just came to tell you I'm heading out to the commune."

"Okay." You kissed him back. "Remember to be nice to the Judge so he'll help you."

"I'll try, but if he doesn't cooperate, I'll have to... you know." Sukuna shrugged.

Although his attitude toward you had changed, it remained the same toward the rest of the humans. His contempt for them hadn't diminished at all. To him, humans were still a disgusting plague, the most vile and despicable that had ever walked the earth. His hatred was so deep and visceral that he barely deigned to set foot in the commune. Every time he did, fury would devour his chest, and the temptation to wipe them all out once and for all became almost unbearable.

"At least try to make it the last option," you asked, almost begged.

"That will depend on him." Sukuna sighed resignedly before putting you down. "I'm leaving now. I'll be back in the afternoon." And with that, he left.

Anxiety slid through your body like an icy current, prickling your skin and clouding your thoughts. You held your breath, clinging to the hope that Hiromi would follow your instructions to a T. They couldn't afford the slightest mistake. Silently, you prayed, begged that Sukuna wouldn't unleash his fury on your friend for one misstep.

"On second thought..." Mrs. Inoue snapped you out of your thoughts. "Strawberry cake is perfect because it's as sweet as you two." She joked, making you smile. "Good luck, Hiromi. I'll leave it in your hands," you thought before returning to a happy bride-to-be.

Hiromi was exhausted. This was his fifteenth case of the day, and he was barely halfway through his shift. Since the curse attacks began to increase months ago, so did the conflicts among the villagers: thefts, disputes, accusations that seemed endless. Every morning, upon arriving at the courthouse, he was greeted by the same scene: a long line of anxious, impatient faces, waiting for him to solve their problems. And the day was still far from over.
