Chapter 78: A Monster From The Past

Jason was hungry for revenge as he flew across the sea towards Wolfsbane.

It was Ryder's fault for breaking the curse. He could have just died like the pathetic worm he was. Just like his parents drew their last breaths that day, believing Jason would spare their child.

But now, he was getting threats from his demon contractor, making him a laughing stock among the Fallen.

It had taken him so long to get to A Rank and rise through the ranks in the Chaos Alliance. Yet, they were saying he was incapable of even performing a Curse properly.

He wasn't going to let a brat who had never even Awakened mana ruin it for him.

Soon, the coastline of Italia Island was in his sights.

Giving his wings a final boost, he landed right at the edge of Wolfsbane—no reason to alert the SS Rank Werewolf inside.

He was furious, but not enough to forsake his own life. Worst-case scenario, he will break his demonic contract with Nero. It might drop him by two sub-ranks, but he would still be stronger than that C Rank demon. Anyway, he was going to go and make a contract with a much stronger demon, one that deserved him.

He had only chosen Nero then because he was desperate for power, but that demon had lost his usefulness a long time ago.

But for now, his only goal was to kill the Briar brat.

He could smell the Curse that had tagged Ryder for years. It was nearby. Following the scent, Jason arrived at a bungalow.

Carefully peeking through the windows, he looked inside.

And then his eyes fell on the kids. Especially the two with bright platinum silver hair and green eyes.

"Ryder and Rachel. Both of you are together! I guess god is giving me a chance to do what I wasn't able to achieve that day, all those years ago." A cruel smile tickled Jason's lips. "Rachel...tell me, will you scream as beautifully as your mother when I rip your brother in front of your eyes."

Since Misa was an S+ Rank Hero as compared to him being an A Rank Fallen, he was a lot weaker than her. Thankfully, his only goal was to kidnap the kids.

Stalling her for a few minutes was within his abilities.

Demonic energy crackled into life as it sprung from his palms and surrounded the house.

Inside, Misa and Ray quickly became aware of what was happening outside their house.

"Guys, be careful!" Ray yelled as the dark energy flooded the windows open.

Misa activated her Skill一Voice of the World一which allowed her to manipulate the laws of the world in her favor.

"Kill yourself, demon." Her command held so much confidence that Ray was almost ready to kill himself, only stopping because he knew he wasn't a demon.

The spell should have a much stronger effect on the Fallen than it did on Ray.

But the Fallen was still staring at them hungrily through the window, unaffected in the slightest.

"Sorry. Doesn't work on me." He shook his head.

Ray looked at the black lightning circling the house and realized something.
