"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Don't you go having one of your mind conversations! You know I can tell when you do that Ally!" Xandre's voice rang out breaking the silence in the car.
"Okay! Take it easy, 'SpikyHair'!" Ally turned to shoot Moses a big smile. Xandre, who was on the outside of the joke, fiddled with his hair in the rearview mirror.
"So, what's his original power?" He said after he had decided his hair was up-to-par.
"I don't know. I was Gazing the whole fight like I was supposed to and at the beginning everything was pretty normal. Moses had a typical Tek aura, although it was a pretty powerful one. But as the fight went on, I kept getting glimpses of something more, something I'd never seen before. Then, right before I stopped you guys, the aura completely changed." She excitedly chattered off.
Moses began to get the feeling that she was a little too interested in his 'aura', whatever the hell that was. He didn't know whether that was a good thing or not. She made him feel like he was a new species that she was analyzing.
"Whoa, if Ally's never come across your power it must be pretty rare. Come on, Moses, you gotta tell us! What's your power?" Xandre turned around in his and stuck his bottom lip out, putting on a "You-can't-say-no-to-this-face" face. Well the best face a spiky haired guy with super abilities that had just shown he could kick four Sec agent's asses could manage.
Moses didn't know if it was the fact that they had saved him from being shipped off to Assignment, him and Xandre fighting alongside one another, or the stupid face Xandre was still making at him, but he was actually considering letting them in on the truth.
"Yeah, pwetty pleeeasse?" Ally asked, matching the expression on Xandre's face. She did it a hell of a lot better though.
Moses looked into the pleading stare of Ally's shining green eyes and noted the cute little way her lip twitched as she pouted. Any doubt or suspicion Moses had about the duo instantly metled away under the innocence of her stare.
"You guys are right," Moses slowly began. "Tekking isn't my original power."
Moses felt his heart began to beat faster and he swallowed hard; all the moisture in his mouth had deserted him, and his tongue now seemed to be AWOL too. He was telling it the words to form, but it wouldn't budge, paralyzed with fear. Moses had been paused for so long that Ally turned to see what the holdup was. Her gaze turned soft as she realized Moses was having such a hard time.
"It's okay, you can trust us." A warm smile was spread across her face and her jade eyes had a calming effect on Moses. His unruly tongue finally calmed down and his facial expression now held the same smile that Ally's did.
"Okay, I'm not a Tek, really my po--"
"DUCK!!"
"Duck? What ar--" Xandre received the answer to the question before he even had the time to finish it. The loud ping of bullets crashing into the body of the ancient car made it clear what Ally had meant by 'duck'. The three passengers in the car covered their heads and crouched until they were out of danger.
"You idiot! You didn't detonate the AcuDarts!?" Ally shouted as she turned the key and the old car roared to life. She somehow managed to get the car started, out of park, and accelerating away from the agents all with her head still nestled safely in between her knees.
"Riight, about that....Moses and his unknown power kinda stole my attention. I'll do it now." Xandre sat up, and began to fish through his pockets in search of something. After checking all of his pockets, he finally pulled a black remote out of the pocket he had speedily checked through first. As he pressed a button, a small beep was emitted from the radio. "There! They shouldn't be shooting at anything anytime soon."
