A/N
I lost my phone and had to get another which is why I hadn't been writing much. Anyway let's not forget this is my first book.

We found her. We were now at Kate Louis' front door. Me and my mom. I, myself was ready. A feeling that was foreign to me but that I was starting to feel alot more since I'd been home. We'd been back a month, my mom always saying she wasn't ready to face Kate.

I was ready. I was ready to let go of what'd happened with my dad and our family. Not excusing what he did, but not letting it tear me down. I'd seen Rachel, MacKenzie, Meg, Max, and Zander tons of times already. I told them about my dad, and Charlie, everything. I'd never felt more.....ready. To face things, anything.

KNOCK KNOCK

The door creaked open slowly, and creepily as I saw the familiar, big, brown, kind eye that belonged to Kate.

All of a sudden she swung it open.

"Well what a surprise! Haven't seen my bestie in a while. Carter, you've missed a ton of appointments, how are you?" She asked with a look of concern on her face but you could tell it was fake.

"Cut the crap Kate." My mom said walking in as I followed.

"I didn't invite you in." She said holding the door open.

"We need answers." I demanded.

"Well, you found her didn't you," She said gesturing towards my mom, "I'm not telling you anything else."

"I think you are, let's start with this one, where's Johnathan?" Mom snapped.

A smirk spread across Kates' face. And I just couldn't help but notice how familiar it felt being here.

"Where is Johnathan, Kate!?" Mom raised her voice.

I started thinking, how was mom going to even get the girl? She wasn't going to expect to just see her and she'd get in the car. She wasn't going to take her, was she?

"Listen Ella take your daughter and leave, you're way out of your leage." Kate spat.

"And your daughter. I want to meet her." Mom said, persistent.

"She isn't yours Ella!" She exclaimed.

"You haven't been taking care of her, she's sick isn't she!? Who's been pating her medical bills!?" Mom yelled back.

"Johnathan." Kate responded.

I looked at her and even more and more she seemed more familiar, like she looked like someone I used to know...or still do.

"Is that what he's been telling you!? He asked me for the money but I wouldn't give it to him until he showed me the bills and told me your daughter was sick!" Mom yelled.

"What kind of illness, Kate?" I asked looking at her.

She looked to the side.

"It doesn't matter, we need to find Johnathan first." My mom said.

"He's not here!" Kate yelled.

Mom walked towards their room.

"You can't go in there!" Kate yelled following after her.

"Hiding something?" Mom said angry opening the door.

"Ella."

I ran towards the room to find Johnathan standing up in nothing but his underwear.

"You're pathetic. I know what you did." Mom said.

"I haven't done anything." He said lifting his hands up.
