IM FUCKING CRAZY I LOVE WRITING ABOUT MY SWEET LITTLE GAY BOYS.
Ahem, now we continue with regular crazy behavior.

Head cannon that isn't really mentioned but is applied in a way that affects their actions and judgement:
-After his father dying, Mitsumom worked a bunch of hours and sometimes on bad weeks they had to eat less, not go hungry just eat less.
-After his mother died, Teru took the night shifts because his father was out on work during the night and didn't get to say goodbye to his wife and simply cannot go out late at night. Because of this Teru and Kou drifted apart.
-third person pov cause it makes sense!-
Sousuke was never much of an outgoing person, he'd always keep to himself. He usually did things he loved by himself after all. He liked the idea of friends and friendship, yet never had the courage to put himself in a vulnerable position. He knew the way he acted wouldn't be appreciated by others. It had happened before after all.
However it being the first year of junior high, he hoped people and he himself had matured enough to have bonds with. He decided that today would be the last of longing for something he hadn't attempted to obtain. Everyone seemed like they were in the middle of a conversation. He stood up to see who sat in front of him, initially hoping they wouldn't be too busy to talk to him.
He was also alone, perhaps he was the same as Sousuke. The boy lifted his head from the desk and looked at Sousuke in the eyes. These eyes were so bright, and so was the school, everything seemed brighter than this morning. He didn't think much of it, spring is when the dead come back to life, more vibrant than ever. Spring is for new beginnings, Sousuke's mother had always told him.
"Hello, I sit behind you. My name is Mitsuba Sousuke." Sousuke said as he stuck out his hand for a handshake. The other boy looked at curiously before shaking his hand. Sousuke mocked him in his head, people don't like to be made fun of upon meeting another person.
"My name is Kou Minamoto!" He said now with a smile and tone that were both far too energetic for nine in the morning. Kou shook Sousuke's hand and asked "did your friends also miss the first day?". "No, I don't have friends." Sousuke replied. "Oh." He said looking a little shocked. "Mhm.." Sousuke replied realizing how fast the conversation had dwindled.
"Alright everyone, back to your seats." The teacher said as she clapped her hands, grabbing a piece of chalk afterwards.

-Sousuke pov-
I looked in my bag and grab my lunch box. I sigh to myself. It's always awkward eating in the class so I might as well eat outside where it's less obvious I'm alone. I grabbed my juice as well before heading out. Once I made it to my spot I sit down on a bench and open my lunch box. Rice, and yesterday's leftovers. Not surprising.
"Hey that looks good, mind if I sit with ya!" An annoyingly energetic voice says. No one else has made this kind of an offer so might as well, I guess. "Sure, go ahead." I said gesturing to the unoccupied space on the opposite side of the bench. He sat down crisscross apple sauce (idc how old I am I will always call it crisscross apple sauce) and hesitated before he looked up to meet my gaze.
