"Would you like a ride back home?" it was after the group therapy and I was waiting in the same chair as before for Paul.

I looked up at Garrett, considering my options. Paul was running late and I could save him the drive by taking up his offer. Plus I'm sure he had better things to do, considering the fact that he was also in charge of the boys.

"Sure, why not" I picked up my jacket and followed him out of the office.

He led me to an old little car and opened the passenger side for me. I got in, smiling up at him once I was settled in. He shut the door and walked around to get in through the other side. I took my phone out to send Paul a quick text.

To Paul:

No need to pick me up. I'm getting a ride from a friend.

"Who you texting?" he started the car.

"Just my guardian" I slid the phone back in my pocket.

"Where to?"

"Well we just checked in to this new hotel, it is called Fairview. Do you know where it is? I'm not too familiar with London yet" I ran my hand through my short hair and laughed at my lack of knowledge.

"I know exactly where it is" he pulled into the street and headed in the general direction towards the hotel.

"So you didn't really mention any of your story, mind telling me any of it" I tried starting some conversation.

And since he had already heard my story, I thought it would be fair.

"I see you can't wait to hear all about me," he stole a glance at me, "Are you trying to get in my pants?"

I gasped at his boldness and smacked his arm, causing him to swerve a bit.

"Are you trying to kill us?" he laughed.

"No" I crossed my arms and pouted.

We sat there silently for a while. I kept my sight out the window taking in the lights and people. Finally he spoke up.

"I am in there for my drug addiction" I turned to look at him in surprise.

"What drug?" I cautiously asked.

"Heroin" he swallowed thickly.

I had no words for that; I had heard how addictive that drug could be. I just never imagined he would be the kind of guy to fall under.

"I was fourteen, and at the time my parents had been fighting a lot. My dad was having an affair with his secretary and my mom had a hunch about it. So one day she confronted him about it, which caused this huge fight to erupt between them. My mom gathered some stuff and just left, leaving me with my father," he paused, probably thinking back to that day, "Things just went downhill from there, he was never home. I had to fend for myself, and then I met some people. They introduced me to the drug, telling me that it would fix my problems."

He looked near tears, so I placed my hand on his arm.

He smiled at me, "The drug drained me, and that is when I knew I had gone too far. It almost killed me, after three years of using it. But I got saved just in time when my friend admitted me in to rehab. I am now two years sober now" he clutched the steering wheel, probably still holding back the tears.

We had made it to the hotel and we were now parked in front of the entrance.

"You're really strong" I said, looking down at my hands.
