//filler//"Then it started raining so Ashton gave me his hoodie and carried me back to his house" Lola finished telling the story to the boys sitting at the lunch table. The corners of her lips practically reaching past her cheeks, figuratively not literally.
Michael rolled his eyes at the story and regretted not bringing his ear buds today.
Yes he was jealous, and Michael finally decided to admit it. To himself that is.
It took him all night to come up with a quote on quote: "Romantic way to ask Lola on a date that she won't have a choice but to accept". And while he was stressing himself out over how to pop the simple question- Lola was spending time with Ashton.
And that made Michael sad.
But of course he wouldn't say anything about it, at least not out loud.
"I ship it" Calum spoke with a mouth full of fries.
Ashton smiled at the compliment, but his smile soon disappeared the moment Lola opened her mouth.
"We're just friends" she corrected before noticing the expression now painted on Ashtons face. Lola felt bad but it was the truth, she only wanted to be friends with Ashton. She didn't want people, especially her friends, 'shipping' them. She's been in one too many love triangles in the past, she didn't want it to happen again.
She knew where were feelings stood, and that was with Michael.
And though his face didn't show it, Michael was happy again.

Lola threw her head back as she loudly laughed at the corny joke Michael had written down. "That was so stupid" she spoke between laughs, only catching her breath for a second or two at a time.Michael smiled at the girl with tears flowing down her cheeks from laughing so hard. He couldn't help but think how adorable she was at everything she did. She didn't even have to try, and she'd still love effortlessly gorgeous.
They sat across from each other in the middle of her bed, Dustin sat in Lolas lap as he copied Lolas laughter- laughing just to laugh.
"I got one" she calmly spoke as she dried her face. "What do you call it when wild animals get sick?"
Michael quickly wrote on the paper: idk, what?
"Jungle Fever" Lola smiled awaiting for Michael to laugh, but he didn't.
That wasn't funny
She gasped at the writing "Yes it was!".
Michael shook his head while smiling, she might look good while doing anything but doesn't mean she is good at it.
She rolled her eyes "Whatever, it was".
"So" she sighed letting Dustin crawl off her lap and onto the floor. "What cha wanna talk about now?" She questioned looking back up from the baby to the eyes of Michael.
Michael shrugged, not really knowing what they should talk about next. So far they've talked about school and corny jokes, their conversations being nothing out of the ordinary. Michael thought this would've been a good time to ask Lola on a date, but how?.
He had a plan, a bullet proof plan at that but he was scared. Scared of rejection, scared of potentially repeating history if she said yes.
Michael wrote on the paper, making sure Lola couldn't see.
And with one sharp breath he passed her the notebook.
Lola smiled at the writing, her stomach immediately filling with butterflies. Michael liked her? Since when, she could've sworn it was only days ago when he didn't want anything to do with her.
Do you like me, yes or no?
Lola circled one of the options and passed the notebook back to Michae, whilst biting her lip as she watched him.
Michael was surprised by the answer, he had his suspicions but he just assumed Lola was super friendly. He wrote down another question: you think I'm cute? Yes or no?.
Lola rolled her eyes at the question he stole from a dubsmash, she once again circled an option and passed the notebook back.
I think you're cute too.
"Thanks" Lola blushed and looked down at her lap. She couldn't believe Michael Clifford actually liked her.
Michael swallowed the lump in his throat before opening his chapped lips.
"Will you go on a date with me?".
Lolas eyes widened and she looked up at Michael in amazement. He actually spoke, like legit said words with his voice. To Lola it was the prettiest sound she'd ever heard, she wished she hasn't missed out on it for the past couple weeks.
"Yes" she nodded furiously, tears threatening at her eyes. She wrapped her arms around Michaels neck and buried her face into his chest.
Michael couldn't help but smile as she hugged the girl back, the girl he found most adorable.
Short because it's a filler, I apologize.
