"Rock, Paper, Scissors Shoot" Lola spoke through a fit of giggles as she watched the quiet boy smile at their hands. They both formed a rock with their hands, this being the fifth time they threw out the same thing.

Michael rolled his eyes and quickly wrote something down on his notebook paper.

This is hopeless, we keep doing the same thing.

Lola nodded in agreement and tilted her head at the cut above Michaels eyebrow. Michael noticed her sudden change of gaze and sighed. He had hoped she wouldn't have noticed, it was a question he didn't want to have to answer.

"What happened to your face?" She finally asked.

Nothing. He wrote, hoping she wouldn't continue to question it.

She furrowed her eyebrows at the single word now printed onto the paper. "Nothing?" She questioned and worryingly at him, he nodded.

Lola decided it was just something else that Michael didn't want her knowing about him. So she nodded, but curiosity still tugged at her.

Lola sighed and stared at the clock located above the door. She desperately wished this horrid class would end, with her terrible memory she would never remember all of these French phrases. It was pointless.

"What's wrong?" Ashton questioned after quietly scooting closer to the clueless girl. He noticed the expression on her face, and he didn't like it.

"I just hate this class" she quietly spoke so the teacher wouldn't hear her.

Ashton furrowed his eyebrows "Why?".

"I suck at French" she shrugged and pulled at her sleeves out of nerves. This was the first time, besides at lunch, that Ashton had talked to her.

"I could tutor you" he offered, only having one intention and that was getting closer to Lola. The girl he thought was adorable every time she'd complain about a teen wolf episode. The girl he admired for being happy all the time.

Lola perked up at his words "Really?". Any help she could get would be amazing, and she knew her mother wouldn't have time to discuss or even consider getting her a tutor.

He shrugged with a smirk "Yeah, I'm always willing to help out a friend in need".

"I'd appreciate it, if it isn't a bother" she looked into Ashtons eyes expecting to see some sort of regret. That maybe he was only trying to be nice and didn't think she'd actually accept his offer. But all she saw was happiness and serenity, and she liked that.

"I wouldn't have offered if it was going to be a bother" he chuckled.

Lola nodded "Thanks Ashton".

"No problem Lola" he smiled and jokingly poked her shoulder before returning to his assigned desk- located next to Calum.

"That's not fair" Lola shook her head in disagreement. Luke had just went on about how his neighbor was a slut. Just because she's slept with more than one guy within a week.

He looked to Lola in confusion "What do you mean?".

"It's her life, her body, you shouldn't call her a slut for choosing who she wants to sleep with" she debated back to the blue eyed boy who carelessly listened to her.

"Sorry" he awkwardly and slowly said before biting into his Chipotle burrito that Ashton had kindly bought for everyone. Lola sighed and took a small bite from her veggie burrito, this being the first big meal she's had in months.

After an awkward silence engulfing the table Calum clapped his hands together gaining their attention.

"If any of you would like to join me, I'm visiting Florida with my family this summer. My mom said I could invite a couple friends as long as they get approval from their parents" he spoke never stopping during his explanation. "And a couple hundred bucks" he quietly added before digging into his lunch.

Lolas eyes widened in realization that summer was right around the corner. Though she didn't know why she was so worried, she won't be doing anything different from her past summers. Everyday was going to be like another weekend- watching Dustin and waiting for her mom to get home. From time to time she'd take Dustin to the beach, only to have her mother call her to come home after only an hour of them being there.

"Lola?" Ashton snapped his fingers in front of her face after noticing her stare of into space. She shook her eyes and put the smile she wore everyday back on.

Michael bit his lip in deep thought, not paying the slightest attention to the chatter going on before him.

How was he going to ask Lola.
And when?.
***
Ode to Sleep blasted in Michaels ears as he laid face first into the pillow of his bed. He was currently fed up with everything. Fed up with failing calculus because of Lola, Fed up with not knowing how to ask Lola on a date, Fed up with being Michael Clifford.

Seemed like for the past couple days Lola was all he could think about, he thought maybe letting her in- just a little bit wouldn't hurt.

But now he was hooked to her, and he didn't like it.

She reminded him so much of Cassidy. How she was always curious, always asking questions, her brown eyes, her giggle. He hated that every time he looked at Lola he saw the head of long dark brown hair he once ran his fingers through.

He knew that only wanting to go on a date with Lola because of her similarities with Cassidy was a big mistake. But he likes Lola for Lola too- or at least he think he does.

He liked her obsession with teen wolf, the way she always seemed happy, the way she knew almost every little thing about Michael without him saying a word.

He groaned into the pillow out of frustration.

Suddenly he felt something wet press against his face, Michael hadn't even noticed he was crying. Why was he crying? He didn't know, and it only made him feel worse.

Cassidy in the picture above (played by my wifey Leigh from Little Mix).

Jade (left) also plays an important roll later in this story.

Shorter chapter, I apologize babes.
