Lola smoothed out her dress and took one last glance into the bathroom mirror. There wasn't much different about her usual day to day appearance. She only took an extra ten minutes longer getting ready, which helped tremendously with her eyeliner.
She smiled at her reflection after hearing a knock on the door, and with one sharp breath in she turned off the bathroom light and proceeded to the door.
"Hi" Lola choked out taking in the appearance of Michael Clifford. Instead of his usual jeans and tee, he wore black skinny jeans with a black dress shirt and black tie. Lola couldn't care less about the lack of color, all she cared about was what the night was holding for the two.
"You look nice" Michael smiled and took a quick glance up and down of the girl standing in front of him.
Lola blushed and looked down at the shoes she had stole from the back of her mothers closet.
Michael wished he could kiss her, he wanted nothing more than to feel the softness of her lips. But he decided against it, he was a traditional guy- no matter what his boy hormones were telling him to do. He was going to treat her like a princess by opening every door possible, complimenting her out of random, ordering for her at dinner, and bring her home before midnight. To which he'd hoped she'd want to accompany him on another date.
"So do you" she finally spoke.
"Shall we m'lady" Michael stuck his hand out awaiting for her to accept his offer. She took his hand in hers and watched the back of his head as he guided her to the car. Michael opened the passenger car door, to which Lola took notice of and got in.
Slamming the door shut and running to his own Michael desperately hoped everything would go as planned.
"So" Lola started, already two minutes into the car ride. "Where are we going?" She looked over to Michael for answers to which he smirked and tapped his fingers cheerfully against the steering wheel.
"That's a surprise" Michael spoke glancing at her for only a second before focusing back on the road.
"That's so cliche Michael" Lola giggled and looked back out of her window.
Michael smiled at her words. She was right, it was cliche but that was the whole point. To be all romantic and act as if they were in a chick flick movie, just so he could win the girl over. He knew she wanted this kind of date, the one just like in this movies.
"A cliche date for a special girl" he spoke still smiling widely to himself.

Lolas eyes widened at the beautiful set up spread out in front of her. Fairy lights laid carelessly, but beautifully, around the red and white checkered blanket. And on top of that sat a weaved basket with a tall bottle poking out from one of its openings."Michael this is beautiful" she smiled walking closer to the scenery. She admired the lake reaching out for miles in front of them, the stars reflecting perfectly off of the still water.
"You really like it?" Michael questioned rubbing his palms against the leg of his jeans.
"Of course" she nodded.
Michael nodded and swallowed the lump in his throat, not only was he opening up and actually talking but he was out on a date- and suddenly that scared him. Suddenly the thought of everything getting ruined or the thought of it not being good enough for Lola ran recklessly through his mind.
They both sat, Lola leaning against her arm as she pressed her legs together due to her dress.
"I know you're a small eater so I just got fruits and crackers, I didn't know what else to get" Michael nervously shrugged after explaining his choosing of food. He reached into the basket, ignoring the bottle of cranberry juice. He laid out each item in front of them.
