I sat down on the stool by the island in the kitchen.
I rolled my eyes to hear someone sit next to me.
"Seriously?" I asked annoyed not facing him.
"What?" He asked confused.
"It's annoying to be followed everywhere" I turn to gave him a glare. "Doesn't it get annoying to follow someone around all day?"
"Sorry, I just want to know if you're okay" he looked at me and then back down.
"I'm okay, if I need something I will tell you, plus I'm pretty sure I can look over myself. I can handle myself. I did it for a long time"
He looked at me.
"I don't need you to pity me either" I said.
"What the hell? I was just trying to help" he got up.
"You aren't helping, you're making me feel like shit because you don't trust me being alone"
"That's not true"
"Then leave" I looked up at him.
"What?" He scrunched his face.
"I want alone time"
"I can't leave you here alone" his face tilted to the side a bit.
"Half an hour, then I'll let you back in"
He sighed.
"Look Jai, I just want to think"
"But.."
I shook my head. "30 minutes"
"Okay, I'll be out there if you need me"
"No, I want you to leave the building" I got up and began walking to the door.
"Thirty minutes" he said and walked out.
"Thirty minutes" I repeated.
He walked out the door.
"I'll be back" he smiled.
I nodded my head and closed the door.
"Thirty minutes" I told myself.
~
These thirty minutes have been so precious.
I realized many things.
Jai is here because he doesn't love me, but because he feels guilty.
He only feels pity. There was a knock on the door and I knew exactly who it was.
I stayed sat on the couch.
"Heather" I heard him from the other side of the door.
I stayed silent.
"Heather open up" he repeated.
I sighed and got up.
"Heather it's been thirty minutes" he said.
I slowly walked to the door.
I got to the door and opened it.
"Thank you" he let out a loud sigh.
I walked through the door.
I walked towards my room. He didn't follow me which was a good thing.
I went to my bed and just laid down.
-
"Heather" I felt someone whisper and shake my should.
"Babe" I heard the voice again.
