A New Case

It's been over a year now since SPR closed, or known as Shibuya Psychic Research. I lived my year as a normal school girl (finally). But it didn't feel right, I missed going on cases that were tough and hanging around everyone. None of us really stayed in touch because we were all busy doing our things. Well at least i'm passing my classes and getting good grades (luckily) on my homework and projects. I guess going on cases helped me get smarter....(Did I just call myself dumb?) Whatever but living a year by myself felt lonely it felt....Well I can't put it in words. And if you're wondering why SPR closed well......

The last case we did was finding Naru's brother's body. It took quite awhile but when Naru found Gene's body he had no use for SPR anymore. That's the only reason why he had SPR open was so he can find his missing brother. He decided to shut it down and that was the end of him. (And if your're wondering about the "Naru" in my dreams....That was Gene. And I still have dreams about him...but they were odd). I can't explain that right now I have to get ready for school.

I started to walk down the lonely sidewalk that lead me to my school. "Wow the Cherry Blossoms are bloomed more than ever!" I said in awe. I smiled and kept walking. "Another day as a "regular" school girl". I mumbled. I walked into the gates where everyone was chatting away about their lives...Though for me I kept walking until I ended up in the building.

I headed to my first class which was homeroom. I walked in and sat down. I covered my ears in annoyance because everyone was too loud.

The teacher walked in and stared at everyone especially Mai. He held out a piece of paper and placed it on the board. "Well everyone here are your tests scores!" The teacher said excitedly. Mai waited for everyone to calm down and then she went up to check.

"97!?" I questioned confused. "Why yes Mai you made it in second in your WHOLE grade!" The teacher said happily. I banged my head on the board then smiled. I walked back to my seat and kept smiling. "Well let's start our lessons shall we." the teacher said while grabbing his book.

I kept taking notes on what he was doing. Doing my best....doing my best I kept saying in my head.

Miss Taniyama please come to the main office you have a call, Miss Taniyama please come to the main office you have a call. Said the speaker. Mai closed up her books placed them in her bag and bowed to her teacher then left. Mai ran down the halls to get to the main office which was next to the entrance of the school. (Who could possibly call me at this time around?) She questioned.

I picked up the phone and answered "Hello Mai speaking". (Long time no see) the person said in the phone. (I remember that voice) I said in my head. "Naru?!" I questioned happily though I didn't realized I somewhat yelled. Everyone in the office stared at me. (Don't yell and yes it's me) Naru said annoyed. "Sorry" I pouted. "So what makes you to finally call? It's been over a year!" I whined. (Come to SPR after school and you will see) Naru chuckled then hanged up. "Yes!" I whispered in satisfaction.

It was the end of the day and Mai quickly charged out of the school and went to her house. She got changed as fast as she could and then ran out. Though since she was too excited she tripped on a little pebble (Nice one Mai). She then saw SPR and that encouraged her to run faster. (Excited much?) Right when she got the door she needed a breather so she sat there for a couple of minutes calming down. After her little breather she walked in to her "home".

"Its nice to be here again!" I said excitedly. I walked up the stairs and entered the little hallway. (The first door was Lin's then the door across lead to the kitchen.....) I thought. "Ugh" I groaned. "And the last door is the narcissistic tea drinking jerk....Naru" I mumbled under my breath. I walked towards the door and knocked. "Hello...it's Mai" I said calmly.

"Come in" a voice said politely. I slowly opened the door and saw a pale figure with dark blue eyes and raven black hair. He was sitting at his desk putting away his book. (Naru nice to see you!) I thought happily. The figure next to him was quite tall he had jet black hair and bangs that covered his left eye. He was sitting at his desk typing away.

"Sit" Naru demanded. I did what I was told and sat in the chair across from him. "Do you know why we closed SPR?" he asked me. "Y-Yeah because when you found you know....your brother's body you closed it..." I mumbled quietly trying to hopefully not get yelled at. "Good" he said flatly.

"So why am I hear?" I asked. "Your working today and for the rest of your life" He chuckled.

"Oh..." "Anything else?"

"Nope....Oh wait we got someone coming in today for a case just letting you know" he smirked.

"I'll get tea ready.." I said annoyingly and left.

I took out the untouched kettle and cups and set them on the counter. I placed the kettle (tea pot) and placed it on the stove. I poured water into it and let it warm up. I heard the door shut so I quickly ran out to check.

A young women with long brown hair that stood at her shoulders and she had big brown eyes walked in. "Hello!" I said greeting the young women.

"Naru is this way" I waved my hand up the stairs. She followed and I showed her to the door. She bowed and walked in. I heard a whistling noise "Uh oh!" I panicked. I quickly rushed to the kitchen and turned off the stove. I poured the hot water into 2 cups and added tea powder to it.

I watched as the water turned brown and I added some sugar and placed the cups on the tray and steadily walked to the office.

I handed Naru a cup of tea and also the women.

"Whats your name?" Naru asked.

"Its....Yuuki Fukushima" She mumbled.

She kept staring at her knees.

"So what seems to be the problem" Naru said flatly. I grabbed the note pad off his desk and grabbed a pen out of my pocket.

"Well where i'm living now it said its suppose to be cursed and haunted....but I never believed that. After a month...well I heard noises like screaming.....So I got up and went to the room where it was coming from and the whole room turned bloody and a girl appeared!" Yuuki started to cry holding herself. "I barley made it out alive and she still appears around in the hallways calling a man's name." Yuuki cried.

Naru sighed. "Alright we will be there tomorrow at 7 AM." Naru said calmly as he stared at me. I pouted and then I showed Yuuki out.

"You can leave now" Naru said.

"But I just got here...fine"

"And Mai..."

"What?"

"Don't be late" he chuckled.

I turned around from the half way opened door and stuck my tongue out at him then left.
