Case 5 (Part 6): Odd Woman.

Naru set up posters around town and instantly we go some phone calls to take requests. Like literally, piles and piles of cases...

Naru decided to pick out one that seemed appealing to him. Naru didn't say much but I got a bad feeling about this.

We ended up at a very big victorian house. The aura that was coming off of it was bad. A negative vibe ran throughout the place. Naru told me to go look around just in case I see anything odd. As I walked into the woods I noticed a figure moving around. I walked up a bit closer and then the figure was giggling happily.

"Hello?".

The figure turned towards me and ran up to me. "You must be the girl who's coming to help us!". She giggled. "Who are you?". I asked.

"I'm Emily and i'm 12 years old!".

"Well it's nice to meet you Emily, i'm Mai, it's nice to meet you!".

*Leaves crunching*

"Oh no we better go!". Emily said nervously. "Why? What's wrong?". I asked confused.

"A group of men live not to far from here and they always like to hurt people...Let's go!".

Emily grabbed my hand and started to drag me out of the forest. Finally we ended up at her doorstep. I looked at her, and she looked at me. I glanced at the woods and saw 2 men wandering around. "Hmm, how about we go inside now." I said to Emily smiling. Emily nodded and we both walked in.

"Mai". Naru called out. "Yes?". "Go and get the box of cameras, someone forgot them.". He said.

"Ugh...Fine". 

I walked outside and headed to the van. I opened up the trunk and grabbed the box. "Brrr..". I looked up and it started to snow. "Snow already? Well I guess weather is different here".

I quickly ran inside. I shook off all the snow a placed it on the table.

"Honey go play outside while these people go see what's wrong". The mother said politely. Emily nodded and she quickly grabbed her jacket, "Also sweetie come around 3:30 so we can eat lunch okay?". Emily smiled and she took off.

"Is it okay to leave her outside..by herself?". I asked.

"I keep an eye on her don't worry.". The mother said. 

(Something's odd about her...)

Masako walked out of the hallway and I quickly went up to her. The mother stared at us until I finished talking. "Do you feel or sense anything odd about the mom?" I whispered. 

"To be honest I do". Masako whispered back.

"I'm gonna go outside for a bit...". I grabbed my hoodie and left.

I sat on the steps and started to draw things in the snow. I kept glancing at the woods, luckily Emily didn't go too far. I heard laughing from the inside...like insane laughter. I peeked through the window and saw the mom holding a knife in her hands. "What is she doing?". 

The mother swung the knife around and then I heard laughing again.

"Is she possessed or something?!". "I haft to tell Naru this!".

"But I can't leave her outside alone...". I ran towards Emily. "Emily, come I think it's best if we go inside for now okay?".

Emily nodded. I held her hand and took her inside the house. Her mother was gone, but luckily Naru walked in just as I did.

"Naru..Uh..Do you notice anything weird with her..mom?". I whispered in his ear.

He looked at me and nodded. Then he turned around and vanished into one of the rooms.

"How about I go make you some hot cocoa since you've been outside for so long!". I cheered happily.

Emily jumped up and down and ran towards the kitchen. I prepared the hot cocoa and we sat in the living room for awhile. Thinking about her mom made my body tingle. Next thing I knew was falling asleep on Emily.
