Case 6 (Part 9) Spirits All Over....

I bolted up from my bed. Awakening to the bright light beaming through my window. I got out of bed and stared at the morning sky. I yawned as I walked to the bathroom. I took a shower to refresh myself for the day. Once I got out, I quickly went back to my bedroom and began to get dressed. I put on a light yellow tank top and then over it a pink denim vest jacket. I slipped on my light pastel green skirt and then my socks and black sneakers. I quickly brushed my hair and stormed downstairs.

Luckily I got up before Naru and Lin and I prepared breakfast and tea for them. I made some eggs and bacon with a side of fruit salad. I brewed the tea and set it on the counter. I heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen.

"Your up early". I heard Naru say. "I made you guys breakfast if you want some..". I said back. "Alright". Then Naru walked into the living room. 

*He could've at least grabbed his food!*

I grabbed both Lin and Naru's plates and steadily walked into the living room. I handed Lin his food then to Naru. Without and word from them I marched back into the kitchen and ate my food there. Once I was done I washed my plate and place them back in the cabinets. I sighed and walked into the living room. 

"So Naru is there any cases yet?". I asked curiously. Naru finished eating and nodded. "Today, at 12 we're meeting Monk and the others so we can go to our new job..". Naru sighed. "Ah..".

I noticed Lin was done eating as well so I grabbed his and Naru's plate and walked into the kitchen. I washed the dishes and put them back to where they originally were. I looked at the clock and it was 9:43 AM. "Agh.. Two hours and fifty-seven more minutes!". 

"Can I go walk around a bit until it's time to go?". I asked. Naru nodded and went to his book. I grabbed my bag and walked outside. "Ah it feels so good!". I began to stretch my arms as I let my body be taken in by the fresh air. "A new case huh. Good. I need a break from being around people".

I walked down the sidewalk and went to my demolished house. I stared at the rubbish that laid before me. I stared at the sky and softly smiled. Then...

I heard footsteps running behind me. I quickly shifted to my left and some stranger fell right on his face. "Who are you?". I asked. The boy got up and stared at me coldly. "Your Mai right?". The boy asked harshly. I nodded slowly. When I mean boy, I mean not a kid, he looks and sounds more older than me. So i'm guessing maybe 19-20 years old?

"What is your business with me?". I asked.

"I'm an acquaintance with a man named Narumi. He told me about your "power" you showed last night...So I came to see for myself!". He slightly laughed. 

"Of course. I should've know that this would happen". I sighed. "Listen not to burst your bubble or anything but you've got the wrong idea...I honestly don't know how I did it. It just happened.".

"Yes. Indeed he told me that to. But I did my research and your power can help with so many things!". He said excitedly. "So, your just going to use me then?". I asked. His smile faded and just stood there. "Listen, I have to go. Go tell your perverted friend to keep out of my business and leave me alone! Understand?".

I stormed off and went to the park. I looked back and he wasn't there. "Good he's not following me, for now atleast..". 

I felt something vibrating in my pocket so I dug into it and my phone was going off. "Naru..".

"Ello?". I said into the phone.

 "We're leaving. Come home now". He said harshly. 

"Jeez, you don't have to sound so harsh! I'm coming!". After that I hung up the phone and ran straight Naru's.
