The next day, all of them were hanging out around town. Isabelle and Alec were getting used to the life of a Shadowhunter, but still could use some more of a push to have them accept this as their new life.

They were all training, for what felt like forever. Alec was worn out.
Isabelle kept fighting, but it was clear she was getting sick of it for that afternoon.
Alec took a seat against the wall, catching his breath.
Jace called, "Alec! What are you doing? We aren't finished-"
"Jace, we've been at it for almost three hours now, I am taking a break, and you are dealing with it!"
Jace held his hands up in self defense, and shrugged, going back to training with himself.
Alec heard his phone go off from where he left it before. He leaned over and grabbed his phone, expecting it to be Magnus.
It wasn't.

Clearly, it was Sebastian. A picture was attached to the message.
A picture of blood on the floor, with the text, 'How's that boyfriend of yours?'
Alec jumped up immediately,
"Sebastian has Magnus."
Everyone turned, giving him a confused look.
"Woah, what?" Clary questioned.
Alec nodded, motioning to his phone, "Sebastian sent me a picture. Just, blood, and-"
"How do you know it's Magnus?" Isabelle questioned.
"He mentioned him."
Jace rolled his eyes, "see, Alec, this is why we train for three hours straight."
"See, Alec," Alec mimicked and put his phone away. "We have to go help him, guys."

Clary tossed the blade, "we don't even know where he is."
"We'll go to where he lives.
There has to be something there that'll tell us."
Alec explained.

"Alright. Fine. We'll all go."
Jace nodded and lowered the seraph blade.
"Good," Alec sighed.

They all headed out.
Alec was trying to hurry the group,
but they stayed at their normal pace.
What?
He was worried about Magnus, like a boyfriend should be in this situation.

They soon got to Magnus's loft. There it was. The blood on the floor. No sign of Magnus.
"Just, look around,"
Alec told them all.
They listened, not wanting to say no to Alec, since he was stubborn as hell.

They looked for about probably fifteen minutes. There was nothing.
"Something has to be here,"
Alec sounded annoyed.
Jace huffed, "Alec, maybe Sebastian didn't leave anything. He wants us to find him ourselves-"
"That's not fair! We don't know where the fuck they are-"
Jace put his hand on Alec's shoulder, and Alec shut up.
"Calm the hell down, Lightwood."
Alec pulled away from him, not saying anything, still trying to cool down.

"Alec's very smart." A voice was heard from behind them. They all turned, weapons ready.
From the darkness,
came Sebastian.
"But also very stupid."

Alec had the bow ready. He just wanted Sebastian dead. Like, wow, life would be great.

Sebastian watched them all. "Clearly, Magnus isn't here. Isn't that right? You'll have to find him yourselves."
He nodded.

"Just fucking tell us, Sebastian, we don't need your bullsh-"

Sebastian snapped his eyes over at Alec,
not even looking phased.
"Push any harder, Lightwood,
and Magnus won't come back."

Alec lowered the bow, muttering a phrase under his breath, which was probably a lot of curses, and then something to make fun of Sebastian's hair or something.

Isabelle tried to go at Sebastian with her whip, but she missed completely,
Sebastian was too quick.
She looked shocked.

Mostly because she missed.

"Good try, though," Sebastian nodded.

"You're making this harder for yourself," Clary glared, seeming angry.
Well,
they all did.

"Oh,
I know I am. But I'm also making this harder for you." Sebastian smirked, and in an instant, was gone.

"We have to find Magnus,"
Alec walked over to the door,
but Isabelle grabbed his arm.
"Woah. We can't just go yet. These rescue missions never happen in one night." Isabelle nodded.
"This isn't funny, Isabelle!
My boyfriend is somewhere that I don't know, with a crazy bitch, and he could get seriously hurt!" Alec was yelling by now.
"Alec. Calm down. We'll find him. But we can't go just yet. It's what Sebastian wants, he's probably there waiting to kill all of us."
Jace nodded.

"Then let's fucking go back to the Institute, huh? And leave my boyfriend somewhere to get hurt. It's what you all want."
Alec was the first to leave the loft, walking back home alone.

Izzy sighed, "yep. That's definitely my brother." She crossed her arms.
"He just doesn't understand yet," Clary nodded a little, crossing her arms. "He will soon. It takes a lot to understand just what is going on. If we went now, we'd be dead. He just was focusing on the fact that Magnus would be in trouble."

Jace nodded, arm around Clary.
"You just explained it perfectly," he nodded.
They all got back soon enough.

Alec was training - well, letting his anger out.
It was shown.

Jace walked in to the training room.
"Woah, Alec, calm down."

Alec turned, shocked, but then he was angry again.
"I am calm!"

"No, you are not." Jace grabbed the stick Alec was training with, tossing it aside. Alec crossed his arms, looking up at Jace. "What do you want?" He questioned.
Jace smirked, "wow,
What a great best friend. I wanted to come in here and train, but clearly you were having a ranting fest-"
"Because I'm mad, Jace."
Alec went to walk past him, but Jace grabbed his arm. Alec looked over at him.
"We'll get him back, Alec. Magnus will be okay."

Alec nodded a little bit. "I know." He murmured, pulling his arm away and walking out of the training room,
leaving Jace alone in the huge setting.
