I Dont Want To End Up Like Them

Joey sat in the kitchen, eating his breakfast, watching Daniel panting seeds in the garden. Footsteps could be heard as David walked downstairs and entered the kitchen.

"Good morning, boi!" Exclaimed a bubbly Joey.
David quickly grabbed some food, managing an awkward "hi" before taking his breakfast upstairs, leaving Joey confused. "That was strange." He muttered to himself.

His thoughts, however, were interrupted by the sound of a text message from his phone. It was from Shane.

Hey do you mind if I come over?? I kinda need to talk to you about something...

Joey replied, concerned.

Sure boiii you can tell me anything <3

After about 20 minutes, Shane turned up on the doorstep - red eyed and messy haired. Joey invited him in instantly and instructed him to sit on the couch.

"Lisa and I broke up."
"Oh my God, Shane, oh, come here." He hugged Shane warmly. "Why?"
"Lots of things ... But, I think the main thing was that our relationship was so public ... To the point where we couldn't have a fight just for the sake of our viewers. It just turned into ... Not a healthy relationship ... Like, at all."
"Aw," Joey pulled him for another hug. "I understand..."

Joey and Daniel spent the day with Shane in order to cheer him up and offered him a place to stay for the night. It got later, into the afternoon, when the film they were watching finished, they started talking. Shane was asking about Joey and Daniel's relationship.

"So, where was your first date?"
"Oh, well..." Joey paused, coming to a sudden realisation. "We haven't actually, really been on a date yet."
"Wait, seriously? You've kissed him for millions of people to see, but you haven't been on a date?"
"We just never really thought about it, we hang out like 24/7 anyway." Joey replied, slightly embarrassed.
"Still! You know what? You two are going on a date, tonight."
"But, won't you be..."
"I'll be fine," Shane interrupted. "I'm not going to kill myself from being alone for several hours."
Joey turned to Daniel, who had an adorable smile plastered on his face. "What do you think?"
Daniel slid off couch and knelt, on one knee, in front of Joey. Daniel held his hands and looked up into his eyes. "Will you do me the absolute honour of going on a date with me?"
Joey grinned sillily and replied "yes"
"Okay, we get it! You two are adorable, now go on your date before you make me barf."
The pair laughed.

Daniel went to his house to get ready, while Joey picked out a cute shirt and some nice jeans. He heard the doorbell ring. Putting on his blazer, he went to answer it. There stood a dashing Daniel, holding a bundle of roses.
Joey laughed, amazed. "Oh my God! Daniel!"
"For you, my love." He handed Joey the roses.
"Um, do I actually have to take these with me?" Joey asked.
Daniel laughed. "No, of course not, leave them here. It was just a romantic gesture."
"Well, gesture received. Thank you, they are beautiful," Joey gave the boy a peck on the lips. "So, wait, where are we going?

To a restaurant in the more posh side of LA. It was absolutely stunning, Joey was stunned by the elegance of the place. They got a table for two and ordered very classy meals.

"So, when am I going to be introduced to the psychopaths?" Daniel asked.
"They know who you are."
"Yeah, but I mean as you boyfriend."
Joey looked uneasy. "Look, Dan, you saw Shane, you've seen what having an online relationship does the couple. The same thing happened to two friends of mine - Anthony and Kalel. I mean my subscribers are already asking about the details of our relationship. One day I'll tell them, but for now I just want this relationship to be between me and you - not a camera."
"Hey, don't worry," Daniel reached his hand out and placed it on top of Joey's. "I understand and I support your decision. I suppose I better take advantage of this before people start - I don't know - writing fanfiction about us."
Joey laughed and looked into Daniel's eyes. "You really are the best boyfriend ever."
