School on Monday was treacherous. For some reason I couldn’t get myself to enjoy any of my lessons. I followed the lectures to the best of my ability, but my attention span was wearing thin.
I tried to not think of him, but my mind kept wandering to thoughts of Sebastian, and the way his lips felt against mine. He didn’t show up to school that morning. Why did he skip? Was he sick, or just sick of seeing me?
By the time lunch came around, I was not able to focus on anything, peering around and waiting for him to appear at the table he sits at everyday with Ryan and Sam.
Sam…
A shiver went through my body as I thought of his intense stare, rather pale skin, and piercing blue eyes. I wasn’t attracted to him, but something about him was different, in a way that I had never experienced before.
He wasn’t at school today either. Is something important going on with their parents? They are princes after all…
Sebastian is also different, I argued with myself. He is mysterious, sexy, Italian, sweet, funny, a prince. Everything you want in a guy. His husky voice and fit body was enough to send me over the edge with delight, no matter how sluttish or weird it sounded.
I looked around me, realizing that I was seated alone. Where is Damien?
I sighed. I picked at my pizza, not really in the mood for eating. Why did my life have to be so utterly confusing?
Just then someone plopped down in front of me, then another person. I glanced up to see a very happy looking Damien grinning wildly, seated next to a very cute guy with black hair and interesting hazel/blue eyes. He had a smile playing on his lips, and I couldn’t help but feel that he would be easy to be friends with. His hand shot out in front of me, palm open as if to shake my hand.
I placed my hand in his and shook introducing myself.
“Hi, I’m Nia Frey.”
“Hey Nia, I’m Zak, nice to meet you. Man you are gorgeous.” He smiled sweetly at me, totally serious. I froze. What?
“Oh calm down Nia, Zak is gay. He is who I went out with the other night.” Damien explained. I nodded in understanding.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you too Zak. Do you guys want something to eat?” I offered up my pizza, still not feeling very hungry.
“No thanks Nia, we just got back from lunch, that’s why I kept Damien from getting here on time.”
“Sorry Nia, but I can’t deny Wendy’s baked potatoes. Yumm…” He sighed. I looked down at my now cold pizza frowning slightly. I wish I could go have lunch at Wendy’s, but lunch was already almost over by now, and I would more likely be late to class which I couldn’t afford.
As my inner babble was going on, I didn’t notice the bit white paper bag that was placed in front of me until the smell of butter and cheese reached my nose. My head snapped up expectantly to find that indeed, a Wendy’s bag had been pushed over to me, a steaming hot potato inside.
“For me?” They nodded simultaneously. “Ah, Damien you’re the best!” I squealed, reaching over to give him a one-armed hug. I then proceeded to yank out the potato and begin stuffing my face. No, I still wasn’t very hungry, but I can’t say no to a baked potato.
