"How was your day?" My mom asked, putting rice and pork chops on my plate.
"Good." I lied.
"Are you hanging around Justin? If you are he's a very good gentleman. A good influence on you." My mom explained, smiling at me between bites.
"No." I lied again. Swishing my rice around, someone knocked on the door.
My mom answered it and in came Pattie, I'm kinda confused on why she'd be here.
"Hello, I was wondering if you'd like to join Justin and I for dinner tomorrow night." Pattie explained, smiling at both of us.
"Of coarse we will! Doesn't it sound like fun Miranda?" My mom asked me, looking like she wants the answer to be yes. Well I'm not going to say no, Pattie is just too nice to say no to.
"It should be." I said, smiling a bit at Pattie.
"Alright! I can't wait to see you tomorrow!" Pattie said, and made her way out the door. Making sure she closed it but not too loud.
My mom ate her dinner, and put her plate in the sink.
I was almost finished, and then I put my plate in the sink also.
After I went to my bedroom and got my phone. I unlocked it then went on Instagram. I really wish I was as pretty as these girls in the pictures. They have so many followers and they get so many likes. It just makes me sick how they post a picture of them with a skirt on, and then they get thousands of likes. It's not fair. Another reason why I feel worthless.
I put my phone on my bed and sat on the bed. I really don't want to go for dinner at Justin's house. It'll just be awkward considering I told him to get away from me. I honestly don't mean to be so cold to everyone. It's just my natural behaviour.
A few hours went past when it was 9:00. I decided to get my pj's on and head downstairs. For some reason it's hard to fall asleep when I don't have a glass of milk. It just seems to calm me or something like that.
I came upstairs with my glass, before I went to my room I popped my head in my moms bedroom to say goodnight to her. She was curled up in bed watching "The Voice." I don't know why she likes that show, it's annoying.
I went in my bedroom and closed the door.
Most of my night was spent on thinking about tomorrow.
**************
I woke up to the bright sun coming across the top of my ceiling. I had to put my hand on my face to block the sun as I got out of bed. Sometimes when I wake up, I have to put on these black glasses because my eye sight isn't very good in the mornings. I am glad I don't have to wear them to school or during the day, because I would be made fun of more than I already am.
I hopped in the shower, got out and got dressed. I put on some black leggings and a white t-shirt that had the Eiffel Tower on it. For some reason it was really chilly out today, strange.
I then curled my long hair and put my bangs to the side with a bobby-pin. Also I curled my eyelashes, put some mascara on and then put on some chapstick. My eyelashes are pretty long. I would say that my favourite part about me is my blue eyes. It's the only thing I feel alright about, when I look at myself.
The day was pretty boring. I made some Kraft Dinner and ate chocolate. I really love chocolate and poutine. Anything really that's fattening. I don't gain weight though, I'm only 115 pounds. Which is another thing I like about myself.
Oh look, I'm complimenting myself today. That's a first.
My mom finally came home and saw me on the couch with a tub of vanilla ice cream watching the last part of "Breaking Dawn".
"Have you been like this all day?" My mom asked, standing at the door way.
"I got up a few times." I replied, licking my spoon.
My mom shook her head and laughed. "Are you excited to go to Pattie and Justin's house?"
"Meh" I said, watching as Bella kissed Edward.
"Well then. You better be polite tonight." My mom said, pouring a glass of water.
"I will mom." I will always be polite at Pattie's house, she's just too nice to be rude to.
But Justin on the other hand, I've already been impolite to him. And I am starting to regret it a bit..
**************
"Welcome! Come on in!" Pattie said, with a big smile on her face.
My mom and I came in to the smell of spaghetti, it smelt really good. I went into the dining room to put the flowers my mom got for a welcome gift on the dining room table. The house was really welcoming. It wasn't too perfect to look like you can't be comfy, but it was cozy and elegant at the same time.
I went into the living room and sat on the red couch. Soon enough I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. It was Justin.
He came down in a pair of jeans and a green t-shirt. He walked over to the kitchen and greeted my mom. She looked happy from the politeness of Justin, then Justin came into the living room. Oh how great.
He sat on the same couch as me and was acting like I never told him to get out of my life. And that got me confused.
"Thanks for, uhh.. Coming." Justin said, trying to make it less awkward but he was making it even more, I would rather us not say anything.
I looked at him giving him an awkward smile and then looked away.
"Why don't you give Miranda a tour of the house Justin?" Pattie suggested.
"Sure." Justin replied and went upstairs. Pattie and my mom went out the back door to the backyard to talk, while I'm still sitting on the couch.
"Well... Are you coming or what?" Justin came back down the stairs so I could only see his head.
I got up off the couch and followed him. As I went up the stairs there were pictures of Justin when he was younger, he was cute.
"This is the bathroom." Justin pointed to the bathroom, then looked at me with those chocolate eyes. He then went to all the other bedrooms.
"And this is my room." Justin opened the door and I walked into the blue room. There was a queen bed on the right side. On that same wall, there was a big window with black curtains. On the other side there was a closet, and a dresser. But something that did catch my eye was his guitar, the one I saw him using the other day.
"I like it." I said, looking at his room.
"It's not special, but I spend most of my time up here just playing music and sometimes writing it." Justin replied, putting his hands in his pockets.
My eyes were opened more when I heard him say that he writes music, I never met any boy that does that.
"So, what do you wanna do?" Justin asked, sitting on his bed.
"I don't know.." I said, crossing my arms at his door way.
"Could we talk? About the other day?" Justin asked, looking really curious and nervous.
"I don't really want to Justin." I said, the nicest way I could.
"But-" Pattie cut Justin off.
"Dinner is ready!!"
I went downstairs with Justin behind me. I sat beside my mom at the table, as Pattie gave me some spaghetti and garlic bread Justin stared at me, with a smile that made me comfortable with myself, with him.
I'm so confused.
