"Christine! Where is my skirt?!" I yelled from my large, walk in closet.

"Right here, Miss Avery." the house maid, Christine came running into the closet, my uniform skirt in hand.

"Why wasn't it in my closet?" I ask as I pull it up, not caring that I was standing in just my underwear.

"I'm sorry, Miss Avery. It won't happen again." she says as I walk past her out of the closet.

"It better not, I'm pretty sure my mother wouldn't want to hear that I was late to school because of your incompetence." I buttoned up my shirt, pulled up my knee socks and slipped on my loafers. My school uniform included a plaid pleated skirt, a tucked in white short sleeve button down, white knee socks and black loafers. I pulled my socks up all the way up because I liked to be conservative, in school that is.

"The driver is ready for you downstairs." she said as I walked out of my room, my book bag slung over my shoulder.

"It's Friday, does Edward know to pick me up right after school?" I ask hurriedly as I make my way to the door.

"Yes, Avery. Have a nice day at school." she said before I got in the elvator and headed downstairs.

"Edward, we're picking up Lexi and Addison this morning." I yell up to the front from the back row.

He took off and even though they both lived right down the street, I had the biggest limo, so I offerred to pick them up.

"Where's Jamie?" Addison asked when she slid across the seat next to Lexi.

"Oh, you know. Chad drives her to school now. Which reminds me, why don't you guys drive with your boyfriends?" I say

They both blush but aviod the question. "Why are you the only one without a boyfriend? I mean you are by far the prettiest." Lexi says.

I smile at how much they adore me. "Although I do agree with you, I prefer to stay single. More freedom. I can do what I want."

"Very true. I admire your high level of thinking."

"Hmm" I say in agreement. I didn't wear much makeup to school, they didn't allow it, but I always looked nice with my hair curled or done up in a way that looked casual but put together.

We pulled up to school and the two of them got out. I followed and took my stop in between them as we walked up the private school building's steps.

I usually preferred to be alone, but I kept the girls around to give me power. As the day came to a close, I was getting antsy, but tried to keep my cool.

"Girls, as always I am busy tonight. So, I will see you whenever." I say goodbye to them, prancing down the halls and out the door before they could ask any questions.

I looked for Edward and saw he was the second car in line. I hopped in the back and threw my backpack on the floor.

"No friends? Why never on Fridays?" he asked from the front as he puled away.

"Ugh, I have places to be Fridays nights that I would not want them at. They would never understand. And anyways, why would I want to spend more time with them than necessary?"

He didn't respond, but I could tell he was comprehending. He dropped me at home and I got out while he puled the limo around to the garage.

I got in the elevator and waited as we ascended up to the apartment. I stepped into the foyer, dropped off my backpack on the steps and then headed into the kitchen. It was empty, so I guessed Christine was upstairs somewhere. My parents were pretty rich, so we had the pent house on the top floor, which was two floors, actually.

And as usual, my parents were no where to be found. I knew my mother was on a bussiness trip in Paris untill next Sunday, but my dad had left unexpectedly this time. I had woken up Wednesday to a note on the kitchen counter saying that he had to leave suddenly, that he loved me, and that he would call as soon as he knew when he was coming back.

I didn't mind much, really. They had both been working full time since I was younger, so Christine had mostly taken care of me. But, as soon as I had learned to feed myself and wipe my own butt, I became self-sufficient. I much preferred it, actually. Instead of surrounding myself with people I couldn't stand in my free time, I spent it by myself, or in a large room full of complete strangers.

It was only about 4 o'clock, and since I knew I would be having a big night tonight, I decided to grab a snack and then get my homework done. I had a 98 average, and I planned to keep it that way.

The party that was being held tonight was one of the biggest one's of the year. It was in SoHo, so I would have to take a Subway to get there. All I had was an address, but I was excited beyond belief.

It didn't have a start time, and even if it did, I probably wouldn't follow it; I knew it would last all the way until morning.

I put on some dance music and started getting ready.

I started with my makeup; a flawless face, smoky eyes and bold dark lips. I curled my hair into sexy waves, and then decided on what to wear.

I went into my walk-in closet and went to the row of clothes in the far back, my party outfits. I had a lot of mini skirts, but I was more of a tight dress person, less to worry about situating if a shirt came untucked or something. I decided on a cobalt blue dress that had black panels on the side that wrapped forward on my body to make the illusion of a smaller waist.

I put on my favorite bra and underwear, took out my party heels, did one last glance of my outfit. threw my phone in my mini cross-body bag with some money and other party essentials, and headed out the door.

"Christine! I'm going out!" I press the elevator button and it comes quickly. I hop in and as soon as the door closes, a hug smile spreads across my face. I knew this would be one of the best nights ever.
