you want me to suffer like you did.''

The first drones jumped over the ridge, no older than 3 months old, their childish screams barely making a dent in the howling storm engulfing the battlefield. The Zombies raise arms and notify Casey.

A dozen more emerge, they are unarmed, but their belts slogged with ammunition.

"Why aren't we shooting?" Uziel asked.

"Hold it." C said, "Something's wrong."

The soldiers began stomping onto landmines, one by one, singular bodies took to the air before slamming into the snow. A hundred more landmines line the 100 meter stretch before them. There's no fear, their boots keep crunching, slogging through the snow.

Each soldier takes down one landmine, one by one until the boots grow weaker, then the next wave comes. More soldiers begin to emerge over the ridge, the screaming picks up, theres more, they have ammo, but no weapons. They scream through the oily water mist of their comrades being vaporized by more landmines. One of them finally reaches the 150 meter mark. He keeps running forwards, and that's when Uzi could see what he was holding in his hand, a small glass shiv.

He was shouting something indiscernible.

"Open fire!"

"Open fire?" V2 said to Casey. Casey looked up from his red screen and nodded.

V2 watched the blips travel through the radar, the 5 dozen cleared most of the minefields, the next wave will... It was back when she served in Zinc12, the Commissar would order them to fight in a very similar manner. No, it's not possible, but- It can't be true.

Commissar, Command, and MAM, they were all the same AI.
"No, you can't do that-"

"What?" J snapped, though the Corporal paid the toxicity no mind.

"It's MAM, I know how she thinks, she's trying to get us to reveal our positions!"

"Then what do we do?"

"We- We..." The enemy had no concept of self preservation, it was an advantage they had over the Zombies.

"There's no point." Casey said, clicking his pen, "All units open fire."
