After meeting Nico and Hazel a horn blew form the big pavilion that Percy said was for meals, which i assumed meant it was dinner. i ran back to the Hermes cabin and fell in line at the back, not feeling like faking hunger or thirst. when we got to the pavilion we all sat at one table, the Hermes cabin i mean,

"it's against the rules to switch tables," some one whispered to me.

"but, we're all crammed over here and there are a lot of empty seats at the other tables."

"that doesn't matter." they replied then Chiron stepped forward and started talking but i didn't really pay attention.

" ...we have a new camper," he said "Seth. he's undetermined, on other news war games are in the forest next friday."

"what are 'War Games'?" i asked the person sitting next to me

"it's like capture the flag but you have to storm a castle to retrieve it. the Romans told us about it."

"us being the camp or your friends that were planning a prank?"

"the camp." he looked at me weird "how'd you know we were planning a prank?"

"Hermes is the god of thieves too. typical mischievousness on your faces,  i could tell."

"that's pretty cool." he was cut short by food appearing out of now where onto our plates. grilled turkey with buttery biscuits and some grapes.

"delicious!" i said faking delight at the appearance of food.

"don't eat yet."

"why not?"

"we sacrifice some of our food to the gods."

"how?"

"you toss it into the brazier." it was my turn to look at him funny. "they like the smell"

"gods like the smell of burnt turkey?"

"apparently." he smiled and laughed after we all got up and threw some food into the fire i picked at my food but acted hungry.
