After breakfast I raced to the sword arena to find Percy slashing away at the practice dummies.
"ready for War Games?" He asked.
"ish... you know Rachel?"
"yeah... why?" he stopped slashing the straw dummy and looked at me concerned.
"well, i had this dream. and Rachel-had-this-painting-and-there-was-me-and-"
"Slow down! what?"
"i had this dream."
"yeah"
"and Rachel had this painting..."
"what was on it?"
"me kneeling and apparently screaming in pain, and Hazel on a bed with Nico and Frank looking over her"
"that's it?"
"yeah"
"hmmm..." he studied me "you may want to talk to chiron about this."
"why? is it actually going to happen?"
"probably." he sat down "Rachel, is an-" i cut him off
"i already know that, but-"
"don't try and change your fate."
"what?"
"no matter what happens, don't try and stop this from happening..."
"why?"
"it could end up worse than it should have been." he looked sad
"we best ready for the games..."
"need practice?"
"yeah" and we started to spar. eventually he started breathing heavy. i was flailing my sword around worried that i wasn't even hitting him, i never was sure of myself.
"Ack! stop stop!"
"what?"
"so-" he gasped "tired."
"how long have we been-"
"half... an... hour" he gasped " how... do you... do it?"
"don't know..."
"well at least... you won't get worn out during... the games" Percy's breathing slowly turned back to normal.
"yeah." i thought a moment "do you want some water?"
"do i?" he smiled
"i'll get you some..." as i turned around i gasped, to see a large group of campers with eyes wide staring at me.
"wha-"
"how-"
"for so long-" these whispers scattered the silence and they cheered, well half of them.
'the other half must not be on my team'
