Sunghoon’s pov:
Sunghoon feel his heart suddenly started to hurt, he touch his chest.
"Why my heart suddenly hurting" he look up and stare at the solon picture.
The portrait of solon, something making sunghoon fall on that, he slowly walked towards the photo and touch it.
"Sunghoon"
"That voice, I heard before" sunghoon thought and look up and once again ge was staring.
"Sunghoon!!! What are you doing there, come join us!!!" Jungwon yelled and sunghoon turned his back and look at his friends.
"I'm coming" he said and then turned his back and about to go.
But suddenly he heard once again his name call out .
He turned his back and then he saw no one just him alone.
He grabbed his bag tightly and running towards his friends.
His footsteps echoed against the marble floor as he sprinted down the hallway, heart racing—not just from the run, but from the strange weight that clung to his chest. He didn’t dare look back. Not at the painting. Not at the eyes that might be watching him still.
As he reached the rest of the group gathered near the center of the grand hall, he spotted Jungwon standing with a clipboard in hand and an unimpressed expression on his face.
“There you are,” Jungwon said, raising a brow. “What were you doing alone back there?”
Sunghoon hesitated, glancing over his shoulder—but the hallway now looked empty. Ordinary.
“I… I just thought I saw something,” he muttered, catching his breath.
Jungwon sighed dramatically and waved his clipboard. “Seriously? Didn’t uncle say not to touch anything? And the teacher told us to note down everything we observe. This is a historical archive, not a haunted mansion for your daydreams.”
“I wasn’t—” Sunghoon began, but his words caught in his throat. How could he explain it? The voice that called his name, the way the portrait seemed to pull him in, and how the prince’s painted eyes suddenly felt alive?
He looked down at his hand—the one that had touched the painting. It still tingled faintly, like a spark had passed through his skin.
“You didn’t touch anything, right?” Jungwon narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
“No,” Sunghoon lied quietly.
Jungwon rolled his eyes and turned away, scribbling something onto his notes. “Whatever. Let’s just finish up here. The faster we finish, the faster we leave.”
Sunghoon nodded absently, but his mind wasn’t with them anymore. As the others chatted and took pictures, he stood still, eyes drifting once more toward the dark corridor he came from.
He could still hear it—faint, almost lost beneath the sounds of the present.
His name.
Whispered again, but softer this time.
“Sunghoon…”
He shivered.
Meanwhile, back in the corridor…
The hallway lay empty once more, the only witness being the flickering chandelier above.
And there—within the grand frame of the forgotten portrait—Solon’s painted eyes glowed a deep, vivid crimson.
