Hey guys, I know this pic isn't the right character but without the creases on his face, this is what 'You Know Who' looks like in this book. XD Anyway, I hope you enjoy the chapter. The next one will be up very soon. Stay tuned and thanks so much for reading. Please vote and comment to let me know what you think. Love, GoalieGirl. <3
Katsu was frozen. Just like when she had encountered him in the woods, she was incapable of breathing. That laugh was petrifying. This couldn't be happening, she thought numbly. They had been so careful.
But not careful enough. The darkness around Katsu scared her the most. He was there somewhere, lurking in the shadows.
The children at Katsu's side gasped breaking her paralyzed state. She immediately went with her Jonin instincts, pushing the kids behind her and shielding them with her body. He could be anywhere. She had to be ready to defend them.
But she herself couldn't prevent the trembling of her body as an occasional footstep could be heard in the darkness, each one eerily resounding off the tiled floor. Each one audibly closer than the last.
Katsu swiftly pulled a kunai from her waist and bent her knees in a ninja stance ready to strike at whatever moved before her. But something immediately circled her wrist and twisted, forcing her to to drop the weapon and yelp in unexpected pain. Her kunai clattered to the floor.
Katsu gasped and in panic tried to yank her hand away. But whatever had caught it was like an iron vise.
"Oh, you're going to have to be quicker than that," Sasuke Uchiha said as he roughly yanked her forward and away from the three children. "Long time no see," he said when he caught sight of them, sneering at them in the dark. The kids were huddled together, cowering in unsuppressed fear.
Katsu moved to throw a punch at him but she nearly crumpled to the ground before her fist could connect with anything. Sasuke still had her by the wrist and for some reason Katsu felt as if her energy were seeping right out of her, leaving her weak in the knees.
"Feeling tired already?" Sasuke asked sounding amused, suddenly gripping her arm firmly and dragging her with him.
Katsu protested and struggled but her blows were weak. She couldn't get a grip on her chakra control for reasons she didn't understand. What was wrong with her?
As Sasuke dragged her with him through the dark house, he spoke in a prideful monotone. "Amazing, isn't it, hm? It's a fairly new justu. Self-invented. It's draining your chakra as I speak."
She could practically hear the smirk in his tone. So that was it. That's why she felt like this. So–So– Powerless.
He laughed humorlessly and opened a random door, pulling her in along with him. It just happened to be Kakashi's bedroom.
Kakashi, she thought, a flame of hope flaring in her heart. He could rescue her and the others.
Once closing the door behind her, Sasuke then roughly and unforeseenly turned her to face him before slamming her against the wall causing the air to be knocked painfully out of her lungs. Her arms were pinned to her sides as his own formed a cage around her.
Gritting her teeth and suppressing her surprise, Katsu slowly peered upward boldly, her grey eyes meeting his onyx ones. Those eyes were familiar yet not so in many different ways. These eyes held a possessive kind of hunger that was utterly petrifying.
"Our last reunion was short–lived," he murmured darkly, his face so close that Katsu could feel his breath on her face. He smelled of spearmint. And something else. Something darker that she couldn't quite place.
