Today was the funeral. It was a week later after Carter had been released and she realized that the date for her to leave was coming closer and closer. She didn't want to leave, but it's not like she has a choice. She turned on her hearing aches that she is recommended to use for the next twenty months as instructed.

Black was too much of a depressing color for a funeral and Danielle never understood that. She hates this, all of it. She doesn't blame Luke or Carter, but she blames herself. Maybe she should have covered her stomach and Ashton reminds her everyday that it wasn't her fault and she knows that, but she just can't help, but feel like it is.

Danielle had changed into a black maternity dress, that looked nice on her. Her stomach no longer looked like she was carrying triplets, but looked a lot smaller now that she's carrying twins. She bites her lip, looking at the staples on her lower stomach. Her small finger tips run over the bumpy texture on her stomach. Knowing that she'll have to live with the scar, with the remind that her daughter is dead and Danielle lets out a whimper.

Ashton was in the guest room when he heard Danielle whimper. Lately she's been distant and is afraid of getting near Ashton and he doesn't know why. Ashton pulls his tie up as he walks to Danielle's (their) bedroom. He leans against the doorway seeing his pregnant girlfriend staring at her stomach, seeing her eyes swell up with tears.

He walks over to her from behind, wrapping his arms from behind as the rest on top of the staples and Danielle looks at him through the mirror. Ashton hides his face in the crook of Danielle's neck and she begins to feel guilty all over again for ignore Ashton.

"I'm so sorry," Danielle whispers, afraid she'll break down. Ashton doesn't say anything so she continues, "I've been nothing but a bitch ignoring you and shutting myself out and I know you don't know what I'm going through because you're not the one who has to live with a scar, but at the same time I do know what you're going through because you lost a daughter and you have to live with a scar on your heart and that will forever be with us."

Danielle feels the tears on her neck and she turns around, grabbing Ashton's face, feeling the stubble on her palms and looks up at him. Ashton's honey colored eyes look down at his girlfriend, his hands rest of her lower back and she wipes the tears away. "I'm sorry," she says again.

Ashton shakes his head. "Don't apologise princess. You do need time to recover from this and none of this is easy on either of us, but it's just... just a small bump on the road that some experience and others don't and unfortunately we had to experience that, but we'll be okay," Ashton whispers. Danielle nods her head, closing her eyes. "I love you okay. I will always love you, no matter what princess."
