so like ten chapters left maybe hopefully. Imma try to update a lot and so like yeah, remember try to reach that 20K goal. And then 30K for a sequel.

Carter had spent the past few days with Luke and the day was here. Carter was doing a last minute check. Danielle, Ashton, Luke and her are going to go and get some lunch before the three leave to the airport later. Carter makes sure her luggage is ready and she sighs, looking around.

"You excited to go to New York?" Her mother asks, Asher standing next to her. Carter shrugs her shoulders, looking at her family, her sister is being allowed to leave the correctional center to see her leave. "Did you tell Luke?"

"Yeah I told him I was leaving," she tells her mother zipping up her suitcase. The rest of her belongings would be shipped.

"Did you tell him the full truth? No I don't think so," Asher says and Carter looks over at his younger brother, tears in her eyes.

"I can't," she whispers, wiping them away as she stands back up.

No one says anything. It's quiet for a few minutes until Asher speaks up again, "Why don't you just want to tell him the truth. It'll hurt less if he finds out by himself,"

Carter sighs, her brother has some sense. It would be better if she just told him the other part of the reason she's going to New York. She hears a honk from outside and she takes her lower lip between her teeth. "You don't have to tell him, but I don't want to be the one to tell that boy why you haven't been back."

Carter nods and she grabs her phone. "Well we're going to go to lunch and we'll meet you at the airport," Ms. Evans nods her head and smiles. Carter walks through the two family members to go downstairs to meet her friends. Carter's really nervous, not because she was leaving, but because she was afraid of what would happen.

Carter opens the front door and see Luke standing there, about to knock. He smiles softly at Carter and she returns the smile. "I was about to knock on the door," he chuckles, looking down at his feet.

She lets out a laugh, "I can see that ass face," Luke smiles and grabs Carter's hand. They walk towards Ashton's car, making a bit of small talk.

Danielle looks back over at Ashton. "You realize he'll be calling you in like a month or so on why Carter hasn't come back... you do realize that right Ashton," she tells him as Luke and Carter walk towards the car. Ashton nods his head, but doesn't say anything.

It was difficult to watch a young couple in love be separated apart. They aren't being separated apart because their parents don't want them to be each other, they're being separated apart but thousands of miles away from each other.

The two get into the car and it's silent except for Twenty-One Pilot playing in the background. Soon they arrived at their destination, Luke not knowing that this would be the last time he'd see Carter for a while.

And so they ate and laughed and talked about nothing. Carter trying her best to make these last few hours last because she wouldn't know when the next time she'd see Luke would be. Maybe in a few months, maybe even in a couple of years even and she knows she'll slowly die when she can't feel Luke's lips on her own and all she'll ever do for the rest of her life is regret the day she left Sydney and didn't tell Luke.
