Catherine

"Things are not what they seem. Remember that Catherine, remember that."

His words echoed in my head as I hugged my pillow. It was already 3 a.m. Despite me making plans to sleep now, I can't stop thinking about what the seer had said.

What did he mean? Things are not what it seems? Does he mean the prophecy? What??

Its already 3 a.m.

"Arghhh!!!" I messed up my hair in frustration. I can't think, my head feels messed up and my brain is already shutting down. Staring at the dark ceiling, my eyelids became heavier and heavier.

*****
I could hear the birds chirping and a sound of what sounds like Dylan's car driving off. How peaceful...

Wait, what?

I opened my eyes dashed clumsily towards the window. My still sleepy mind is still trying to comprehend what had just happened. Realisation finally hit me and my sleep ridden eyes widen. "WAIT, DYLAN LEFT ME HERE?!?"

I ran downstairs trying to brush my teeth while tying my hair and cursing Dylan mentally. It was a effective way to save time, but a messy way as well. "Oh, morning Catherine!"

"Morning Mrs Williams!" I mumbled, my mouth foaming like I had rabies. "Oh dear, Catherine, you do not need to go to school today! After what happened yesterday, I'm pretty sure you are still shaken up."

"Really?" I stopped whatever I was doing and toothpaste dripped on my feet. Ew. "Yes really, now go up and have some rest."

I let out a sigh of relief and walked back upstairs. Throwing my toothbrush back in the cup, I laid face down on my bed and drifted back off to sleep.

*****
"Catherine, wake up!" I opened one eye only to see Mrs Williams shaking me up. I got up and yawned. "Where are we going?"

"Oh just somewhere I think you would like." I looked at her suspiciously.

"Really?"

She just smiled. " You'll see."

Please no.

As a kid (or kit), I never liked surprises. They always seem bad to me, well I guess its a werecat thing. I remembered once I freaked out when I was stuffing myself with a late night snack and my mother popped out of nowhere.

I accidentally clawed the wallpaper as my claws unsheathe. Welp, I never liked it anyway- too flowery and it was getting flakey. We never got to replace that wallpaper, too busy fighting for our lives.

I fought back a tear.

I got into the car, my hands trembling a little. Did the werewolves find out about me? They must want to eliminate all the werecats. Why am I still sitting here? Should I run? Fight or flight?

My heart was pounding so hard, I'm sure Miss Williams could hear it. Should I risk it?

You know what? My brain hurts, so go to hell with it! You live only once right?

The car stopped in the middle of a forest and I got out of the car. In front of me was a huge wooden house and my nose instantly picked up many smells, most of them being werewolves.

Yolo, right?

Authors note: Ha. Hahah. Its been like, a year? Okok, I can explain, plz dont kill me. Firstly, I have problems with my brain. As in, my brain keeps giving me ideas for new books, which I keep agreeing to. And then when I actually write the story, it doesnt turn out the way I want it to, thus I dunt have time with this book. Secondly, Olevels. O levels are really stressful and Im struggling with the elective I took, art. I really regret taking it but art is my passion so follow your dreams, eh? Nope. Just nope. Thirdly, I have actually (kindof) planned the story and how I want it to go. In my head. So, this causes me to forget the plot and how I want it to go.
Honestly, I didnt expect people to be still reading my book, seeing as it have not been updated since, I dont know, last year? Heh. But reading comments filled me up with determination! (if you dont know the reference, i suggest you go watch cry plays undertale, its amazing)
But anyways, I probably wont update until very long again (im super sorry) so do keep this book in your library (or your heart;)) until I do so!
(long ass authors note)

Fun Fact: I actually thought out about the story, to even its sequel! But the problem is sometimes, I have problems writing out certain parts because I have it all in my head so I type without thinking and then I have to reference to my other parts of the book, which then I have to read the whole story again to make sure it links up! Yes I know, I should probably pen it down, but then again, Im a cat! So im naturally lazy:3 (excuses tsk tsk)
