Chapter 10: Wicked Ones >:-)

~2 weeks later~

Riker's P.O.V.

2 weeks. 2 weeks!! 2 FLIMSY WEEKS!!! It's been two weeks since Kyla started dating that butthead Austin. That backside is trying to steal her away from me. OK I really miss her, I'm talking like a full on Trini now. But hey, you can't blame me, the girl's my best friend.

The only person who knows that I like her is Rocky and he has been super helpful through this whole thing. He would usually reassure me and convince me that she would always be there for me but now I'm starting to think that might not be the case. I mean, what kind of best friend doesn't talk to you for 2 weeks just because she's dating someone now?

Everyday all I would do is sulk and be sad and stay up in my room. Most of the time I would just cry into my pillow to get all my emotions out. Kyla is my world and that would never change, but my world is crashing down before me. I don't think I'll be able to save it this time.

Kyla's P.O.V.

Today makes it 2 weeks since I've heard from Riker. It's also been 2 weeks since Austin and I started dating. I know, I know most friendships end like that when one of you start dating someone else but Riker and I are different. That doesn't mean I've stopped hanging out with the other Lynch's though. For example I am currently on my way to some soccer field with Ross close to the park.

We both had our gear on and we were almost to the field. That's when my eyes almost popped out of my head. I saw some guy and girl sitting on a park bench in a full blown make out session. The only thing was.........the guy was Austin. I tapped Ross' shoulder and pointed in the direction of Austin. He took the hint and we both walked over to them.

"Hey Austin," Ross said coldly. Wow you could actually hear the venom in his voice. The two of them pulled away and Ross and I almost dropped down when we saw who he was making out with. "COURTNEY?!?!" Ross and I screamed in unison.

She smirked and said, "Oh hey guys." "Courtney what are you doing here making out with Kyla's boyfriend?" Ross asked her. "And Austin what are you doing here making out with Ross' girlfriend?" I asked. "Look Kyla, it's not what it looks like," Austin stated. "Oh yeah? Cuz it looks to me like you're cheating on me," I snapped back. "Okay it's exactly what it looks like," he said. "You know what, Courtney we're through and Austin don't you dare go near Kyla again. Now....get...out!" Ross exclaimed. Courtney grabbed Austins hand and they both left.

By that time, both Ross and I had tears in our eyes. I sat on the bench and he sat next to me. I held onto my ball and said,"I can't believe that just happened." "Me neither," Ross responded. We both looked at each other before Ross pulled me into a tight hug. We cried onto each other's shoulders until we couldn't cry again.

I pulled away and said, "Let's just go to your house." And with that we both headed to the Lynch house.

Riker's P.O.V.

I sat on the couch watching television and miserably flipping through the channels. I am usually happier when I'm watching with Kyla. That's when I heard the doorbell ring. I trudged to the door to open it and that's when my heart broke. There stood before me was the love of my life and my baby brother with tears streaming down their faces and their arms around each other.

"What the hell happened to you guys?" I asked as I pulled them inside. "A-Austin cheated on m-me with....with..Courtney," Kyla choked out before she started sobbing again. "I'm gonna go u-upstairs," Ross said and left me with Kyla. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and we walked to the living room. I sat down and placed her on my lap, wrapping her legs around my waist so she was facing me. I wrapped my arms around her tightly preventing her from falling.

"Okay, tell me everything that happened," I said. "Ross and I were going to play soccer in the park. Then we s-aw Austin and C-Courtney making out on a p-park bench," she stuttered and continued bawling her eyes out. She buried her face into my chest and clung onto my shirt. I held onto her tighter and she just sobbed louder. That jackass Austin hurt my Kyla. I knew he wasn't good enough for her. On top of that, that bitch Courtney hurt her again. Why wasn't I there to comfort her?

I pulled away as she started to calm down. I tilted her head up so she was looking at me. "Please don't cry. I'm always gonna be here," I said wiping away her tears. She ran her fingers through my hair and placed her hands on my cheeks. "Thank you for always being here," she said and gave me a watery smile. I pulled her back into a hug and kissed the top of her head. "And hey, who needs a boyfriend when I got an awesome best friend like you?" she said and giggled. Although it hurts just being in the friend-zone, it's better than not being anywhere at all. I tightened my grip on her until she fell asleep in my arms.

I carried her up to Rydel's bed before kissing her forehead. Rydel didn't mind since she knew what happened. I then realized it was 8:30. Wow, time flies fast. I showered and got ready for bed and by the time it was 9:45 I was out like a light.
