UNEXPECTED (A Riker Lynch fanfiction)

Chapter 12: Uh.....Surprise?!

Kyla's P.O.V.

Today is the day before me and Rydel's birthday, also known as the day before I leave to go back to Trinidad. Turns out I'm staying there for 1 month, not 1 week.

Currently, I'm with Riker I'm my bedroom packing up my suitcase. Ross is with Becca in her room and the rest of the Lynchs are in the living room. "So, are you gonna miss me?" Riker suddenly questioned. "Of course I'm gonna miss you! You're my best friend in the whole world, I can't even go a week without you!" I protested. "Aw, that means a lot Kyla. I'm really gonna miss you too," he said sadly and bent his head down to break eye contact with me.

I walked over to him and sat next to him on my bed, placing my hand over his thigh. "You know I'm just a phone call away, right? You can call me anytime you want and no matter what time it is, I'm gonna answer," I said reassuringly. "And there's always Skype and I can email you too. It's not like we won't be able to speak to each other at all," I continued. He looked up at me with sad eyes and I just wrapped him in a warm, tight hug.

A few tears escaped my eyes as he stuffed his face into my neck. This is gonna be really hard on me, especially now that I've developed feelings for Riker. Yeah, you heard me, I like Riker. I know I said I liked him before but that was just the fangirl talking. After becoming so close to him, I realized that it's kinda hard to stay away now, and with all that's happened in the past 6 months, he's proven to me how much he cares about me and that just made me fall for him harder.

I pulled away from the hug and grabbed his hand, intertwining our fingers. "C'mon lets go downstairs to meet the others," I said wiping away my tears. He pulled away my hand and wiped them away himself. "Sure," he said with a small smile, and with that we both went down to the living room.

Riker's P.O.V.

Ok, so I may or may not have a special gift for Kyla for her birthday and I may or may not give her a heart attack when I give it to her. And before you ask I AM NOT PROPOSING!!!! Anyway, Kyla and I walked downstairs hand in hand to meet the others.

"Hey guys," Kyla said sadly. Oh trust me, you won't be sad after I give you your gift. "Hey Ky, please don't be sad or you'll make me sad too," Rydel said opening her arms to give Kyla a hug, which she gratefully accepted. "You ready to do this?" Ross whispered to me. I nodded in response.

"Ok guys," I clapped my hands together to get everyone's attention. "Since Kyla won't be here tomorrow, I think it's best we give the two birthday girls their present now since they would want to open them together," I announced. They all agreed and the girls sat on the couch.

"Ok, so this one's from me," Rocky said handing Kyla and Rydel their presents. Kyla got a tshirt saying "Trini blood runs through my veins" and Rydel got one that says "Best sister in the world". "Aw, thanks Rocky," they both said in unison and laughed.

Next, Ross got them each a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, a black and yellow for Kyla and a black and pink for Rydel.

Ratliff got Kyla a charm bracelet with a half of a heart that says 'Best' and Rydel a necklace with the other half of the heart that says 'Friends'. I swear I saw a few tears in Kyla's eyes.

Ryland got Kyla a new pair of soccer shoes and Rydel a pair of boots.

Lastly, my gift for Kyla and Rydel. I smirked to myself as I handed them both the gift bags, waiting to see their reactions.

Kyla's P.O.V.

I absolutely loved all the gifts the guys gave me. They really are the sweetest. I'm really gonna miss them. Lastly, we both got our gifts from Riker. When he handed me that bag, I pulled the paper out and became completely confused, and so was Rydel. At the bottom of the bag sat two envelopes.

We opened them to reveal two birthday cards. "Dude, I'm turning 21 and your sister's turning 22 and all you could get us is cards?" I asked playfully. He had a smirk plastered on his face as he said, "Open it."

When we opened it, I swear my heart came to a complete stop. "WE'RE GOING TO TRINIDAD TOGETHER?!" Rydel and I screamed at the boys in unison. "Uh....surprise," was all Riker could say. "Yes we are. We all have the same flight tomorrow and we can consider this a little vacation in the Caribbean," Rocky explained.

I pounced on Riker in a hug, wrapping my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist, his arms firmly around my stomach. When I opened the card, I saw plane tickets for Riker, Ross and Rocky to Trinidad at the same time as my flight. Rydel got hers, Ryland and Ratliff's tickets in her card. "What can I say, I give the best gifts," Riker said and laughed.

He let me down and I hugged the rest of the boys before jumping on Rydel. We both squealed as we pulled away and screamed "THANK YOU" to the boys before running up to my room.

Becca walked into my room and asked, "So, I guess you got your gifts." "Wait, you knew?" Rydel asked. "Maybe, maybe not," she sang walking back downstairs. "Oh my god I can't believe I'm going with you to Trinidad. This is gonna be the best vacation ever," Rydel beamed. "I know right. I can't wait for you to meet my family. I'll show you around my hometown and you can even come to my old high school for the prize giving ceremony," I told her. "I can't wait," she agreed.

Riker seriously is the sweetest guy ever. I just wish I can call him mine. He may not like me though, I mean, there are millions of girls out there for him. Why would he wanna go out with me? But hey, who knows? Maybe something will happen back home. As people say, 'The Caribbean is paradise'. Maybe Riker will make this trip paradise for me.............
