THIS MORMNG WAS SUNDAY, which meant it was training day for Star, and another tour slash hangout day for Marco and Soleil. Last week, Marco took her to his karate studio to take a lesson with him. She had clearly underestimated his "craft" because the hour long lesson left her breathless and sore the next day.

Marco kept today's activity a surprise but made sure to tell her to dress comfortably, so she opted for a pair of jean shorts and a t-shirt with her school crest on the front.

The princess tugged on the new pair of white Converse Mrs. Diaz had gifted her, getting used to the snug fit around her ankles. They were one of the only pairs of shoes she owned that weren't heels, besides her Mary Jane's, but sadly, those didn't make sense with every outfit.

Soleil moved around the house swiftly, collecting the rest of the things she needed to leave the house. Marco stood by the door, watching the blonde hop from place to place, stuffing different bits and bobs into her purse.

She finally landed at the door, flashing a smile at Marco. The boy blushed, giving an awkward smile in return, quickly opening the door as to not have to face her anymore.

"So, where are you taking me today?" the princess asked, waiting for Marco to catch up with her.

"I thought we could go to my favorite arcade! It's only like, a ten minute walk," Marco smiled.

The two fell into easy conversation, as they often do when left alone, and ventured the ten minutes it took to get to the arcade. Soleil was becoming more familiar with the town each time she went out, and actually recognized where they were for once.

A bright neon sign hung on the brick building, flashing the words INSERT COIN in big letters. The building itself looked out of place among the grocery store and restaurants on either side. Marco stepped forward, opening the door to the dimly lit room filled with arcade games.

"I've never been to an arcade before," Soleil commented, gazing around at the flashing screens and screaming kids.

"That is crazy," the boy scoffed. "Video games are like, America's biggest pass time."

They stopped by the front desk to check in, Marco payed from his stash of money he kept in a very secure wallet he'd gotten from QuestBuy. Soleil had never been, the very concept of the store scared her.

The teens made their way slowly through the arcade, stopping by all the classics. She particularly enjoyed Mrs. PacMan, the ghosts were precious, and cherries were her favorite fruit.

As they walked back through the farthest aisle, a brightly colored machine full of stuffed animals caught Soleil's attention. The princess rushed over, spotting a sparkly pink teddy bear with a crown laying perfectly in the middle.

"Marco!" she squealed, pointing in the glass case. "Look at that bear, I need it! How do you play this one?"

"Those are so rigged, Sol," he shrugged, handing her the two tokens the game required. "It's like nearly impossible. You have to pick up the toy with the claw and put it in that hole in the box."

"What? That's easy!" the princess gave the machine its desired coins, and pressed the red start button.

The claw whirred to life, and Soleil quickly grabbed the joy stick and got to work. The bear sat still, as if waiting for her to grab it. She steered the claw center, and positioned it above his crown.

After checking all sides of the glass, Soleil smacked the button and the claw swooped down towards the animals. It grabbed the bear by the head, jerking upwards with fast motions, and dropped the bear straight into the box.

"I did it!" she cheered, jumping up and down in celebration.

Marco stood gobsmacked, watching as the blonde pulled her prize from the flap in the machine. In all his years of coming to the arcade, never once had he won a claw machine, and here she is winning on her first try.

"Look!" Soleil held the bear out towards him.

Marco laughed, taking the toy from her hands. "I can't believe you did that! I've never seen anything like it," he smiled.

"We have to name it. I'm thinking Princess Sparkle Bottoms, any thoughts," she questioned, quirking an eyebrow towards the boy.

"No, I think that fits her just right," he said, handing her bear back. Marco couldn't help but admire the way her eyes sparkle as she held her prize.

"Well, there's only one last thing to do in an arcade, it's a mandatory requirement," Marco sighed.

"Mandatory requirement?" the princess questioned.

"The photo booth," he smirked, pulling her over to a large box with a curtain.

The pair sat on the bench inside, and Marco closed the curtain to prepare for the photos. Princess Sparkle Bottoms sat in between the two, a trophy of their successful day at the arcade.

"Okay it's gonna take four photos, so we have to pose for them in like three seconds," he explained, putting the money.

"Okay, go!"

"Cheesy smiles!" they both flushed their biggest grin at the camera, leaning forward slightly.

FLASH!

"Charlie's Angels," Marco said, posing backwards with his hands in the air.

Soleil, confused, hurried to copy his pose, but not before the camera caught her looking.

FLASH!

Marco looked over and caught her eye, the two bursting into giggles at her confusion. Soleil loved the way they could effortlessly make each other laugh.

FLASH!

"Okay one more," Marco looked forward, "what should we do?"

Soleil leaned in, placing her hand on his opposite cheek, and planted a delicate kiss on his other cheek.

The boy blushed, locking eyes with the camera and smiling. The arcade was the best place to go.

FLASH!
