'...Please bathe me now, wash me clean, just set my heart on fire, like gasoline...'  - Gasoline by Troye Sivan

Scott set Mitch in the passenger seat of his Chevrolet Camaro, before speeding off down the road to the nearest hospital.

Mitch was quiet the whole way with his knees pulled up to his chest and his face covered, his shallow cheeks stained with tears. He did just try to commit suicide.

"Mitchie." Scott lightly nudged Mitch's arm.

Mitch looked up at his bestfriend with tears in his brown orbs, "Yes?" He asked, holding back a sob.

"We're here." Scott said, rubbing his hand against his nape.

"C-can you carry my please?" Mitch asked, stuttering slightly.

"Of course." Scott got out the car and opened the door for Mitch, and picked him up bridal style.

He pushed the glass door open with his hip because his hands were occupied and went to the reception.

"We need to see a doctor quickly." Scott said, in a rush.

"What's the emergency, sir?" The brown-eyed woman asked.

"My boyfriend here, overdosed on pills and tried to commit suicide. I made him throw up but I'm sure he needs to get his stomach pumped."

A nurse came around the corner of the hallway and took Mitch away from Scott and told Scott to wait in the waiting room.

After some time, a middle aged woman in a white lab coat came out of a room and called for Scott, motioning him inside of her office.

Scott sat in the white chair, listening as the doctor explained to him, "We're going to let Mitch go in about five hours when we take his blood and sugar levels and give him, his medication and then he'll be free to go. Please take care of him."

"Of course, thanks doctor." Scott stood up and shook the dcotor's hand, before exiting the room and again into the hallway.

He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. He had five hours to kill.

Scott decided to make a trip to Walmart to buy Mitch a couple of things. He got in the car and drove down the road.

He pulled up in the parking lot of Walmart and entered the store , grabbing a basket on his way.
He wandered through the isles, looking for his items: a plushie, a box of chocolates, red roses and some new vinyls.

Scott paid and got back in the car, driving to the Starbucks dive thorugh, ordering his and Mitch's usuals. He also drove home to get some clothes for Mitch because he figured he wouldn't want to come home in the same clothes he's been in whilst in the hospital.

When Mitch was ready to leave, he waited for Scott. He was looking down at his feet and fiddling with his fingers and taking deep breaths. He soon looked up and saw Scott running with the variety of items.

"Go to the restroom and change, before I give you the rest." Scott said, dropping a bag onto Mitch's lap.

"Okay.." Mitch scrambled onto his feet and headed for the restroom, leaving Scott to wait.

Mitch walked out in a change of clothes, the bag hanging off his shoulder and looked at Scott, giving him a small smile.

Scott gave Mitch a hug and the rest of his purchased items, before leading him into the car.

They drove home, barely talking and Mitch gazing out the slightly tinted window.

"Scott?" Mitch asked.

"Yeah?"

"Why did you call me your boyfriend? You have a boyfriend and that's not me."

"Me and Alex, we uh- we b-broke up." Scott sniffled back a sob.

"Why? What happened?" Mitch tried to act concerned, but inside he was screaming with happiness.

"H-he cheated on me with J-Jake." Tears were now rolling down Scott's cheeks.

Luckily, he was pulling up in the parking lot of their apartment complex and they got out the car, without further ado.

The two bestfriends got inside the apartment, kicking their shoes off and Mitch headed for the kitchen whilst Scott curled up on the couch, silently sobbing.

Mitch put the bouquet of roses into a vase and stood it on the table in their apartment.

"M-Mitch? Would you be my boyfriend?" Scott asked through his tears.

"I would love to Scott, but not now. Not after what has happened. Not yet at least. I mean, We can give it a try some time later down the line, but not yet at least, Scottie. I'm sorry."

"No, Mitchie, don't apologize. As long as you want us to give it a try some time later on, I can wait. And I will wait."
