Dammit Tara!

I'm looking at the vine growing on the fence and shook my head. The poison is right in front of me. In front of everyone.

The Latin name is Geslemium Sempervirens commonly known as Yellow Jessamine or better Carolina jasmine. Its vine also has beautiful but dangerous Yellow blossoms. It's sometimes mistaken for honeysuckle and because of that people have died.

I remember once in biology class the teacher had explained to us about this plant and we should be careful of it. I walked closer and saw the bumblebees collecting nectar from it. Somehow it doesn't affect Bumblebees.

I hear footsteps and see a kid about Jayden's age about to into the yard and gives a nervous smile when he sees me.

He clears his throat and asks me, "hey Licia do ya if Jayden is in?"

I shake my head, "no sorry you're gonna have to ask his Nana."

He nods and sighs, "Okay thanks, I'ma go ask her now." he walks to the front door and knocks.

I then remember before Tara dropped out of school how good she was in Chemistry. I remember we had to extract oils from a leaf and I remember she got top marks for it. That's exactly what she did here. She extracted the poison from the flower and fruit and she poisoned the DA's PA.

The toxicity of this plant does cause a dry mouth, dizziness, respiratory failure. Similar as to what happened with Chelsea Anne. She did start coughing. To think some people still use this plant for therapeutic healing but only in small doses. Tara must've made it more potent.

I'm sure when the test results come back they're probably gonna find two main components, Gelsemine and Gelseminine. Once the coroner says it's found in the nectar of a Carolina jasmine plant. They're gonna start looking around but that's gonna be difficult cos many people have this vine growing in their yards.

However when they put two and two together.

1. The Da has been very vocal about Jayden's case.

2. The DA and his PA went to eat breakfast at the diner before they went to the courtroom.

3. Tara works at the diner.

4. Tara is Jayden's mom.

5. The poison is from the Carolina jasmine plant.

6. The same plant is grown in Tara yard.

7. They find out she was good at extracting chemicals from plants while she was in school.

All I can say now is there's big shit coming.

The kid from earlier comes back and frowns.

"He's not here?" I ask.

He shakes head, "no his mom took him to visit family before his trial starts. He didn't even tell me."

Before I can say anything he runs away and the hair on the back of my neck start to rise. This is so not looking good for you Tara.

I scratch my head and sigh heavily when I realised. What if she was trying to poison the DA but she poisoned his PA by mistake?

Fuck it Tara! Why?

I jump when my phone starts ringing and frown when I see its Wayne's number. He secretly got hold of this number last night. I'm gonna have to get myself another secret phone.

I answer and hear it's a voicemail letting me know the Agents have arrived and it's confirmed that Harris won't be at the station today. So I must come ASAP.
