"Pick yo' afro, daddy
Because it's flat on one side."

Keandra was singing while she was busy combing and braiding my hair into cornrows.

"You need to pick yo'afro daddy
Because it's flat on one side."

We heard our captive mumbling while sitting on the chair in front of us bit we ignored him.

"Well, if you don't pick yo' afro
You gonna have one side high."

"Well you said you were
gonna take me to see Wu-tang baby
So I braided my hair."

She repeated the verse and I smiled. I liked her braiding my hair. I could fall asleep.

"So how does your arm feel these day?" She asked.

"It gets sore from time to time but I'm just glad the cast is off. It sucked not being able to do much." I replied.

I looked at my phone no calls or messages. I gotta call Jenecia later.

"So how's things with you and Wayne?" She asked and I rolled my eyes. I sighed, " things aint good?" She asked.

I nodded, "well we had an arguement early this morning and we've had not seen or spoken to each other since."

"What were y'all arguing about?"

I shook my head, "to be honest I don't know. All that I know is that we both started attacking each other personally. It was actually kinda vile some of the things we said to each other. We almost got physically with each other."

"That bad? She asked worried, "you ok?"

"Yeah I'm okay. He left before anything happened. I actually don't mind him not telling me he wasn't gonna be home for the weekend. It's almost like I don't care anymore." I explained.

"So how's things with you and your loverboy? Does he know where are?" I asked.

"No! But he knows I like to be off grid for a while. I just have to make sho I call him on my satelite phone." She explained and felt a bit jealous.

"Was it always like that?" I asked.

"Oh hell No! He didn't like that I did that. With his power at work I had long and shit shifts that I would just want to relax but of I rebelled. But that didn't stop him with his money he had people come look for me. But I'm too good at what I do and I'd get pissed off."

She rolled her eyes at the next thing she said, "He knew where I'd like to go so he had build an expensive luxious cabin. That dumb fool."

"Well seeing you're here. I 'm guessing that had changed. Hasn't it?"

She nodded, "but it only changed once we really had a heart to heart about this. He had some concerns that worried him and I understood that. I however told him how I love being in the forest amongst nature and living off the grid for a while."

She smiled, "I think after a few trips he would see it was good for my mind, body and soul because I wss always much calmer and always happier to see him when I got back."

What she said had me thinking. I sat here thinking Wayne and I nowhere near close to be getting married because there are things that need to be sorted out with ourselves individually before we should take the next step and that was a very hard pill to swallow.

I started thinking that I've been rebelling cause I have to be calmer and submissive because my man is a cop and that ain't me.

Keandra was still busy braiding my hair and I let my thoughts wander.

So What? I love a cop. (sequel to Cop loving me? code 10-0)Where stories live. Discover now
